Today's Amazon game Deal of the Day is another $0.98 download: Cake Mania 2. So if you got Cake Mania free from Amazon 10 days or so ago and you liked it, you might want to pick this one up for $0.98. As pointed out above by Dragonlair and Jenany, you must have a US billing address.

It's a shame it's only available to US residents but I suppose that's life. Still, I have far too many games to be too bothered about missing these deals. I only wish I'd waited a few years as I spent thousands of dollars on arcade games when I first hd my accident, paying full price for all of them ($19.99, and most were only played a few times.

I suppose the recession has helped to pull down the price of such things as most would think them an unecessary luxury. The low price of $6.99 for many of these games (from Big Fish, Reflexive. Pie eyed Games and others) isn't much more than the cost of a cheap meal. The Amazon deals are out of this world. I don't know how they manage to sell them at such a low price.

Peace to all

Maud - I know it's hard to see at first but if you scroll down the page a bit, you'll see this:

Product Details * Downloading: Currently, this item is available only to customers located in the United States and who have a U.S. billing address.

Also, for those who are in the U.S. and want to download this game, Amazon is offering a FREE game download - here are the conditions:

Buy a Game Download, Get Another Game Free

For a limited time, purchase any game download* from the Game Downloads Store and get a second title from the qualifying list below for free. To qualify, purchase your game download and within two business days you'll receive an e-mail letting you know that a credit, good toward an additional game download, has been applied to your Amazon.com account. To use this credit, simply follow the link in the e-mail to return to this page and select your free game. The price of the qualifying free game will be deducted from your order at checkout.

Offer valid until 11:59 p.m. Pacific time October 1, 2009. Free game must be redeemed by 11:59 p.m. Pacific time November 1, 2009. Limited to one free game per customer.

It's tricky because you won't see this offer every time you visit the "Granny" game page, so you might need to refresh the page until it comes up.

Hope this is helpful!

I couldn't find it easily either. They may have changed it but since I don't want the game myself, I don't want to take a chance of getting TOO far before I find out!

Whiterabbit - I thought of posting this in the previous thread about the same deal on another game, but didn't know how to change the title of the thread to indicate the deal is now on a different game. So if another comes up, should it go on this thread and then you will change the title, or how should it be done? (Amazon now has a Download Deal of the Day, but they are not always this cheap, so it would not necessarily be a daily thing.)

Dragonlair - I thought of noting that these download deals are only available in the U.S. because I know that has been true previously, but I couldn't find where it actually said that this time, so I wasn't sure if they'd changed that policy, or if they just don't tell you that until you attempt the download. I also wasn't sure if it had previously been U.S. only, or U.S. and Canada. I know someone explained the probable rationale for this policy in a previous thread, and I think it was such that it would be unlikely it has changed, but unfortunately I can't remember what the explanation was (bad memory!) But yes, the download deals are most likely only available to those with a U.S.-based email address.

Pity I can't take advantage of these bargains. I no longer have a credit card (since retiring) . They don't accept debit cards or PayPal, which is a shame as the $0.98 deal is amazing. :(

Can we keep all these Amazon deals in the same post. Just to keep the forums easier to navigate. Thank you. I can change the title as and when necessary to reflect the current deal.
