A couple of other good ways to get scrapbooking goodies...the scrapbooking groups on MSN and Yahoo. Also, for rich, textured backgrounds, frames, embellishments 'n such, try an old program CD .. browsing the CD will invariably show beautiful textures, or at least give you some inspiration. If it is an old photo-manipulation, camera, scanner or printer CD it will be chock full of goodies you can use for digital scrapbooking (or hard copies, if you want to print them).

Yes, I think some scrapbk SW would be a nice change. I have yet to see that offered here. -Good Idea!

At the top of the list, scrapbooking software from Nova: 'Art Explosion Scrapbook Factory Deluxe,' followed by Broderbund's 'Scrapbook Designer Platinum,' 'Creating Keepsakes,' 'FotoFusion,' 'PhotoMix,' and 'Hallmark Scrapbook Studio.'

For genealogy, I began with 'Family Tree Maker,' but so many new, and probably more efficient programs are out that it might be best to refer you to Cyndi Howell of 'Cyndi's List' genealogy; her reviews are here: http://www.cyndislist.com/software.htm. Some programs to consider might include 'Roots Magic,' 'Legacy,' 'Ancestral Quest,' and 'The Master Genealogist.'
