Thanks, wrabbit! What typos? I think people tend to read what's supposed to be there. ;) And thanks, rustynail... I have a credit over there, so will probably use it on this. :)

(post edited)....

Hi midori, ‘scuze all my typo's from my previous post; I was really exhausted yesterday (still am). I’ve slept virtually all of the time since I got back from my hospital appointment yesterday. That was at 5pm on Thursday, now it's after 1am on Saturday, lol. I just managed to drag myself to the computer for a few brief moments earlier today and now. :)

Plants and Zombies is a great game that's on offshoot of the tower defense genre. Each level gets more challenging, but you also get a new power up at the end of each level; though the game initially limits you to using only several of them. As you progress through the levels you earn money which enables you to buy extra special power ups and also expand the rack that keeps your 'usable' power ups. (what I mean by usable is the power ups you select for the level that you are playing. By the time you're approching the end of the campaign mode you have around 50 power ups to choose from, but you can only ever use a certain number at any one level. Before each level you can pick what power ups you think you'll need to survive the next onslaught of zombies. The zombies also change frequently. Initially you get a basic zombie, but each turn see's either different zombies being introduced such as the high jump zombie that can jump over the barriers you place to stop most zombies from progressing along a particular path, or a zombie in a car that moces faster and that can plow through several of the obstacles you usually use to slow down zombies, or you get familiar zombies with different types of armor (though the armor includes traffic cones and washing boards). You’ll see the funny side when you see them, lol. There's so much more including Crazy Dave, (who pops up occasionally to either sell you extra's or tell you about the different stages, for example, the differences when playing at night rather than day, ([i]in the game of course). I'll leave the rest for you to discover though as it's alway's nice to have surprises in a game. lol

To sports fans; If we have no game giveaways this weekend, I'll be posting a couple of sporting orientated games on Sunday. I've just found a cache of games I'd collected ages ago that were meant for the free games project and were stored on one of my external drives. (I have an haphazard way of storing things - that is there isn't a system.) Most haven't yet been posted here yet so I'll have some excellent games to post next week. (well....I think they are okay, lol) :)

I was going to post some images, but can't access my photobucket account at the moment.

you can also get several free levels to add onto your Peggle Nights with a Plants and zombies theme. :)

Reflexive arcade also sell thei games at $6.99 now. I actually prefer Reflexive arcade to big fish.

WR

p.s.

With respect to plants and Zombies, i bought it when it was released and have never regretted paying full price for it. My children and their friends played the main campaign out and I'm constantly returning to the game. It' funny, as well as fun to play. There's three modes to play and is one of the best value for money arcade games I've bought in ages. I highly recommend buying this game even without a discount. If it's being sold over at Reflexive or Big fish I'd snap it up immediately. :)

Nope, it's not "just you,"... if I had a disc for every game I have, I'd have to have floor to ceiling disc shelves. Lol! Not to mention finding the disc each time you wanted to play a game. Much easier to look at a list on your PC, and I've never had a problem re-downloading if I needed to. So I save the disc buying for those games that need six of 'em or so. And even those games are being condensed somewhat, so it seems fine to use downloads. Discs may go the way of the Floppy! Or be used for transferring only, some day soon. Kind of like music now. It's mostly mp3 files! :)

Yes, I wait for "free" too! That's why I forgot about the newer pricing at Big Fish - I have yet to take advantage of it!

I think the places selling casual games for more than that are going to have to give it up. This "discount" is for a game on disc, though Amazon also sells game downloads. But since Big Fish and the other download sites allow you to re-download if you have a problem, I can't see any advantage to having the disc. It's just one more thing to get mixed in with all those other bits and pieces you're going to organize "someday." (Or maybe that's just me:)

The popular game Plants vs. Zombies for PC is available for 12.98 for another 2.5 hours at Amazon. It's one of their Lightening gold box deals. They are also offering Wolfenstein for PC, Xbox 360, or PS3 at a discount today, but it's still not cheap - 29.98 for PC and 39.98 for the other two I think.
