P.S. to above post.

Sorry Lee, just noticed you are from the 'old dart'.
In that case, "you guys" refers to North Americans.

P.P.S. It stopped raining while you were sleeping.

Lee,

Thanks for the info. My mind runs on an 'install and forget' policy. We have extended our daylight savings time period as of 2006/'07. I notice you guys made changes too. I guess the update was to address that (don't have time to read through the info at present). There were two timezone change tools in update (KB931836), installed on my XPSP2 Feb.18. If you, or others use Microsoft Office Outlook, you may want to read the update support article.

Cheers.

There was an update for Aussie time couple of weeks back.

I noticed it on windows update, not being Australian (living in Australia or an Aussie)
I installed it anyway.

Crikey! G'Day Mate,..happy to help [Place smiley here].

Funny post,..from political zeros to wildlife heroes. Yeah, Julian's father Billy 'Big Ears' was our leader at the end of the Vietnam fiasco, so I guess 'Tricky Dickie' Nixon would have been his US counterpart around that time. As for Steve,..well, better to 'kiss-off' whilst doing what you love most, rather than be run down by a stolen Fed-Ex van driven by a road-raged Colombian. That said, we sure do, and will always miss the crazy croc-hunter.

PA? OMG!! Too close to Ohio for comfort. Tell those redneck hillbillies to go get some teeth in their heads...LOL!

Too off-topic...better git-a-runnin'.

GO LOUISVILLE CATS (now KINGS)! Best gall-danged unknown football club in the whole US-of-A.

JEG88 & BillW50,

Whenever that is, if the server is off-line or busy (overloaded) it won't sync at that time, regardless.

Double click on your taskbar time to open date & time properties > click on 'Internet Time' tab, then hit 'Update Now' to manually sync with the atomic clock whenever you please.
Today is Daylight Savings as u know and it has been mentioned how Windows XP SP2 'SHOULD' Automatically adjust to the new settings; well my PC's Clock hasn't changed the time setting like its supposed to.
Do as explained above to open the date & time properties > click on the 'Timezone' tab > then ensure there is a tick in the 'Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings changes' checkbox.

I installed SP2 on August 8th 2006 and here in the land Downunder, where a man-eating crocodile is just a big lizard, we changed to D/L savings at the end of October and Win XP adjusted the PC time without a problem.

Hope this resolves the issues.

P.S. Here's a great little prog to easily keep track of all the Windows Updates (Service Packs and Hotfixes) installed on your machine. You can uninstall updates that you have tried and no longer want/need, also. I've used it since granny was a pup and I can recommend it.

= {---"Except for Windows XP, it is set for once a week and if your computer isn't online at the time, well too bad."---}

BillW50,
--what do u mean,-like Windows checks w/ the Atomic clock [to synchronize w/ it] only once a wk & u have to be online at that time or it wont happen? How can u find out when that is?

There is supposed to be a Windows Update that fixes this problem. If you have them all, I don't know what to say? In 3 weeks it should jump ahead I guess if it didn't get the update. My Windows XP SP2 machines worked Windows 2000 or Windows 98SE machines yet. They might be screwed up for all I know.

Programs like today would solve the problem though. I like Dimension 4 (freeware) myself. As it has a graphic log and really handy for the machines I rarely turn on. I sync my computers every 1 hour, but many of these programs are adjustable. Except for Windows XP, it is set for once a week and if your computer isn't online at the time, well too bad. :(

I'm really not interested in the pc clock offer today cuz I'd rather use My PC but today I am having a problem that relates to that subject.
Today is Daylight Savings as u know and it has been mentioned how Windows XP SP2 'SHOULD' Automatically adjust to the new settings; well my PC's Clock hasn't changed the time setting like its supposed to. I rebooted it but that didn't work; do I need to completely turn it off, & back on? [Yes I have all my Win.Updates; I even just ran a check for ALL updates./+ I remember reading about the time fix in updates months ago. So I know I must have the fix installed.& I have never had a problem w/ my clock.]

Does anyone have any insights into this? -I'd really appreciate any help. --THANKS!
[I think I'll try a shut-down next.]
