I've just seen that Steam are now offering a 60% off deal on UT3 and one of their packs that includes UT3, UT2004, UT gold and UT game of the Year edition. also, I have a third prize that I can offer . Though it's not an Unreal Tournament title. I mistakenly bought an X-Box title a few weeks ago (I don't have and don't intend buying an X-Box). The title is Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I've not decided whether to bundle it with the first prize or use it as a runners up prize yet. I may wait till the event unfolds. Anyway; I though it would be a great idea to pass these onto someone who may appreciate them; so have decided to offer up both games as prizes in the hope that it will persuade newcomers to try out the Unreal Tournament franchise (and Steam) by downloading and playing Unreal Tournament 3 this weekend and more importantly to join in when I run a server on Saturday evening/Sunday early morning this weekend (Sept 19th to 20th)*. If you don't own any Unreal Tournament games, but are willing to download this weekends Steam offer and play on the Unreal Tournament 3 server that I will be setting up on Saturday for a few hours, I'll make a note of the progress each new player makes and will then decide on the two most deserving players. (The condition is that you don't own any Unreal Tournament games) Once the results have been announced (in this thread) I will send them on to the winners. (The winners will of course need to give me their addresses so that I can post the games to them) There are no other commitments. I'm hoping that you will enjoy the game so much that you'll want to join us on the servers whenever I run them. To win the game I will take into account (in the following order of importance: • The amount of time played on the server on Saturday/unday • Communication with the community while playing using the in game communications system • The enthusiasm you show while playing • score {a very minor apect, but useful in case of a tie break (lol)} I've placed scores as the least importand because I would expect most newcomers to be fairly tame at the game. I'm not looking for gun ho, xpert players, just for more players to possibly play in the future.(I intend setting up Unreal 2003 and 2004 games in the future, but I'm also hoping that those of you who don't actually own this game will, after playing it over the weekend decide to purchase it and join us on a regular basis. It's very cheap to buy now at £13.99 (approx $20 or less), though it's not necessary to buy UT3 to qualify for either of the prizes...... The graphics are a little dated with respect to Unreal Tournament 3 and the latest games, but they are still pretty decent. (I can't believe it's been out for two years already).
