I use Paragon Drive Backup for all my imaging needs. I also tried PING and other releases containing Partimage but it seems to segfault a bit ways in on NTFS.

I know I am late to the party but this free program might help: http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/

Especially the Clone disk option that clones the whole disk when you want to replace older smaller disk with a newer larger one without re-installing the operating system.

If everything is already done, it still might help in the future!

I use Acronis True Image to clone my HD with their utilities, choose manual option, then proportional, create image.
Before I followed the above steps, when I cloned I ended up with both HD's being the same size instead of showing the full size of the 2nd larger drive.

DriveImage XML V2.11 and an xp boot? http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm

I suspect (no proof) that the ultimate boot cd and ghost might do just as well- I still use ghost personal edition 2001, but then I still run win2k. I need to upgrade to xp, but haven't.

I have nearly filled up my 500g HD and bought a 1T to replace it.
It is my boot drive.
I need to move all files, data & system to new HD & make new drive boot.
I used to use Ghost to do this sort of job, but my copy of Ghost is ancient & i no longer trust it.
What do you recommend?
