If you are looking for a freeware utility like this, Schop recommended LetMeType. I found it at:

http://www.clasohm.com/lmt/en/

I personally haven't tried it. So if you try it, let us know if it is any good. As I love Smart Type Assistant myself and I don't want to give it up.

As far as reactivation... the best and legal way was to make backups of your hard drive. But you knew that right? But in the future, if you save the Setup file (some GAOTD combine activation and setup in one and will prevent the setup part from installing) you can use it later for after a hard drive crash.

You also need to make a backup copy of your registry for just in case. ERUNT (freeware) will do this very well. And you save both for later and you can reactivate them. Restore with ERUNT (works only on NT, 2000, and XP and maybe Vista) first before running the setups.

Hope this all helps. :)

You can check spelling in google also.

I have good spelling, being dyslexic, I see some words I have written and they don't look right even though they are, so I open google, type or paste what i wrote in search and it either corrects me or goes to a keyword showing it's spelt correctly.

Hi,
Unfortunatly, no, after the time period for the download has ended, you will have to buy it, or hope GOTD will offer it again or a maybe a similar type of software latter. Untill then, if you need a spell checker there are several free ones on the Net. I use Tiny Spell, it works pretty slick, and dose not take up much space or resources. Avalible at: http://www.tinyspell.m6.net/ .
To bad about you computer.
Good day,
Barry

Two days ago my hard drive crashed. I had to reinstall Windows. Unfortunately, all my installed programs went to heaven...
One particular, "smart type assistant" I used all the time and miss it now. Is there any way to reactivate it?

Thanks,

Reuven
