I have the free version. It took about 3 or 4 minutes to install. Winpatrol and ZoneAlarm only gave standard warnings about new program being added, anmd it uses the windows help system etc,. It seems like a safe program. Pro: -Gives a choice to have help automatically displayed on first start. -templates inventory, resumes, project planning, address book, etc... -easy to change templates by changing data record design. -small. FileAmigo file = 13.5M download. 5.4M folder after install. cons- - Not as pretty as the Works database, but not as large either. It has a free version, a web version(with passwords), and a LAN version. <a href="http://www.fileamigo.com/Home.htm">http://www.fileamigo.com/Home.htm</a> It has good review from the people at download.com. It's not as bloated as office (that's rather relative, of course) but it is easy to use and a relatively good bargain for a full Microsoft suite. The database interface is nice. We had to reinstall it once on my husband's computer after a system restore, but it hasn't been a problem other than that. Pros- -Beautiful interface. Absolutely gorgeous. -also has templates (more can be found on the web). -helpful tips in bottom bar. -Very detailed and simple to understand. Microsoft obviously wanted to make this easier to use than access. Cons- -SIZE 153M works folder! Neutral- -Integrated suite with calender, word, spreadsheet, etc. rather than a stand alone ap. Open office also has a database component, but, like works, it's more of an integrated suite solution. Good luck! I pretty much need to create one in the next 3 months and have found that like Access and Excel, the ones I've found need you to have quite a bit of knowledge in database creation - not to mention that it's pretty pricey software. I pretty much need a Database Builder for Dummies program that GOTD might consider as a free offer in the future. In "googling" for such software, I could only really come up with one that would fit my needs. It will allow you to perform those functions on multiple computers, too, unlike iTunes or WMP.
