Lol, thanks for thinkin' o' me, ScarletPetal... (and wrabbit!) And yes, the dress-up games are a bit heavy on the action. :D Tho I do recall playing with paper dolls for hours when young and not getting a bit bored. And I love the elephants! And my favorite color IS green. Saved him into my icon folder. Lots of pretty ones there. :) And I'll be checking out the rest of those games, wrabbit... was just in Florida, not too far from where you just were, tho didn't go to Disney. :)

I've been wondering where you were, midori! I found an online game (it's in -Japanese?) called Midori -- but, it's a dress-up one (no, I didn't play it - it won't load on my computer; I suppose it's more for kids, but -- maybe she has a lot of hats?)

http://www.bibagames.com/play/midori.html

And, there's a little elephant icon also named Midori in the top set on this page.

http://homepage3.nifty.com/hoshinocyan-nel/icons.html

Oh, dear, but it's the green one - I like the red one better! But, maybe you like green?(There are some lovely icons on that site (also Japanese, I think), especially the jeweled ones.)

Sorry, - I suppose it's very off-topic, but I just couldn't help thinking of you when I saw them.
Oh, and, hi, Whiterabbit!

I saw wizards post about having a very long week at work. Sorry I should have offered earlier. Here’s Mondays games and I’ll do tomorrow as well if you want. :)

Here’s today’s free games. The first one wizzard has already posted about five months ago, but it has been updated since then (May) with improved graphics and sound as well cured some frame rate problems. The second one is by the same author and is a half decent platform game called The Kiwi’s Tale. I’ve included a tongue in cheek shooter called Blow Stuff up also by the same author which can be found in his experimental section. The final game is an old Commodore classic called The Simpson’s: The Arcade game. I remember this one coming out. A friend of mine bought it and I remember playing it with him for days on end. It was fun at the time, and still looks good even though it must be 18 years old…… (was is that long ago?)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Derelict: (37.3Mb)

Lead your squad through a star cruiser - 20 big levels, 5 difficulty levels.(tested on winXP & Vista)

Trapped within a star cruiser, surrounded by hostile creatures, can you and your squad escape the Carnage alive?

Derelict is a hybrid First Person Shooter and Tactical Action game. You will need to guide your team of battle hardened marines through the Atlas while protecting them from danger. You can do this in two ways: Firstly, controlling the marines directly in a First Person view and secondly, by giving the marines orders via the map view. You will need to use both control schemes throughout the game to be successful.

Each marine in your team has his own unique skills and abilities, some of which may be vital to get through certain areas. As you progress through the Atlas you may come across survivors who can take the place of fallen comrades.

Your team

1: Communications Specialist
He possesses a motion sensing radar, which is useful for finding and predicting the attack patterns of incoming enemies.

2: Heavy Assault
This deadly warrior carries around a Gatlin Cannon that can efficiently mow down hordes of enemies. Excellent at protecting volatile areas.

3: Demolition Expert
He carries a modified rifle with grenade launcher attached, this has the power to rip apart objects and certain doors, as well as to temporarily disrupt teleportation streams.

4: Engineer
The Combat Engineer carries automated tools for quickly repairing doors. He is also an adept hacker and can crack security systems faster then anyone else on your team.

5: Medic
He is essential for keeping your team healthy. His hazard suit allows him to walk through dangerous areas that would wound or even kill the rest of your team.

I completed the game and will play it over and over again because this is IMHO the best FPS game in his kind I ever played. Everything is great except the end could be better. I expected a congratulations screen or so, but it only tells an epilogue. A little disappointment but it's still a great game and a must for all FPS fans!! :)
Hint: To complete a level and to go over to the next level: Bring all your men (that left) together into the storage room (these rooms look always a bit similar to the storage room of the first level).

Blow Stuff Up: (9.13Mb)

Story:

The year is 20XX. The freemarket economy of Los Bonita Island is dominating world trade. As an agent of the Socialist Peoples Democratic Republic of Mongomobiliacistania, you have been ordered by the supreme comrade overlord to pilot the BFK-9000 Mecha (Big Freaking Robot) and crush the decadent capitalists into tiny bits.

I had problems downloading from the authors site. It stuck at about 75% downloaded. Thankfully the game is also available from Caiman:

The Simpsons: The Arcade Game: (1.11Mb)

An old DOS remake of the Commodore Simpsons game of the same name.

It's a fight / platform game for 1 to 4 players. You have the choice to play with Homer, Marge, Bart or Lisa Simpson.

You can play upto 4 (!) players at the same time, choosing from Bart, Lisa, Homer and Marge. Each and every one has it's own special feature in one hand, and it's own weakness on the other hand. The story behind this game is that Maggie, Simpsons's youngest, swallowed a special diamond by mistake, a diamond very much valued by Mr. Burns. As a result of that, Maggie gets kidnapped, and that's when the battle for Maggie begins. Great action game that the move from the arcade machines to the computer decreased from it's gameplay, because let's face it, 4 people playing on one keyboard is quite uncomfortable, but nevertheless this game will provide hours of fun and humor, and features most of the characters known from the famous TV show.

The game has a nice animated story line, 6 levels, 6 boss levels, some bonus levels + a final boss level.

Each character has his own special weapons to fight eg. Marge uses a vacuum cleaner, Bart his scate board, etc. Also can they pick up some items and throw it to the enemies.

It's a old DOS though will play on Win XP, though you will miss out on the sounds. Try running it via DOSBox for the best experience.

Controls:
