A friend of mine mentioned Format Factory before, so I tried that first. It gave me a decoding problem from the SWF. But I did keep Format Factory for some other projects I had. Very nice program.

My original issue was that I had started using that program "SWF Quicker" given away here a week or two ago. I had a few projects and needed them as GIF. I figured if I converted over to an AVI, I could then convert to a GIF. So I started looking for an export to AVI function in the SWF quicker. Had I looked at the pull down menu for foramts, I would have seen the "Export as GIF" function (along with an export to AVI function BTW). My bad. Problem solved on my end. However; the colors changed slightly when the GIF was exported.

Thx all for your help.

Hi 2-sheds, maybe this one will help (as long as you don't mind installing Macromedia Flash plugin and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.00):

Description page: http://www.bytescout.com/swftoimagegui.html

Download page: http://www.bytescout.com/download_freeware.html

Just locate the line saying "Important Note: we do not provide tech support for our FREEWARE products listed below" and it will be the ninth link after that.

Hope this helps

Thx Hoss... I've tried that one. It's actually one of the better ones too, but leaves a watermark on the image until you buy.

I have Adobe PhotoShop... Does anyone know if there's a plugin for SWF files for Adobe PS? Adobe flash / Adobe Photoshop. I would think they'd provide something, but I've yet to find it, so I guess not.

I'm looking for a way to convert SWF files to GIF. I know there are programs out there that do it.. and I know programs have been given away here at GOTD that do it (but those programs are on another hard drive right now and without a computer to operate it at the moment). I'v already gone the google route, so please spare me the google regurgitation. If there's a decent free version of a program, I've yet to find it, so if you know one post it plz. The free versions I've found all have some kind of limitation on the software, from watermarks to file size or amount of frames.

Somebody mentioned to me that Windows Movie Maker was able to do it, but I'm missing it I think. I don't care if it's a long process going from one program to another to convert either. I was hoping others here had the same problem.. or issue at one time.

Suggestions for me to convert SWF to GIF and cost me $o.oo ?

Thx in advance.
