Well, Terri, if quarantine is good, and I, at least, haven't heard of one failing, then the two options are pretty much the same. As I suspect you've figured out, the real purpose of quarantine is to protect you against false hits. You put a suspected file in quarantine so you can either see if you're computer has a problem running without it, and/or do more research/run other tests on it. And, theoretically, if it's an infected system file - if it can even be quarantined - you can find that out, realize you can't do without it, and replace it. But quarantine is meant to prevent the AV from prematurely deleting something you need or that isn't infected.

Dragon, removing a-squared seems to have solved my GameHouse problems. My driver problem is still to be fixed but I did the Dr. Felix and I'm waiting for BFG CS to get back to me. I tried to update them on my own but was hopelessly confused and didn't want to take a chance on messing things up. I did notice that a-squared's quarantine file is still on my computer. I'm not touching it unless there is a safe way to get rid of it completely. I don't think there's anything really bad in there, just some of the "questionable" things they said to quarantine. BTW what is the difference between deleting a potential virus and quarantining it? Which is better and safer?

-----EDITED way too far off topic----- :)

BK, and all, I decided to check out this 'game', and indeed, like most have said it is more like “a book on disk” (to quote BK). You do get options to choose from to determine the outcome of the story, but that's really all it is, is a story. From start to finish I 'played' in just...oh, maybe...a couple of hours - didn't really notice the starting time. Because of the sexual inuendos, I really don't think even 13 years old need to fool with it really; think they need to keep it more for late teens, on up. Besides, it really doesn't look like something that would interest a younger child; not to me, anyway.

After writing my review over in comments, just wanted to add here that - looking at Tycoon's home page - their 4 games all seem to be manga style. I'm not a big fan of the way manga treat women and young girls! I'm afraid too many are just written for learing school boys.

Oops, I missed it. Heileen has 3 different endings. Hope the other two are better.

As for the game - It didn't even appeal to me at all so I didn't bother downloading it in the first place.

BTW - Terri. I saw where you ditched your anti-virus and went back to Avira. Did that solve your Big Fish game problems?

Was just getting around to posting in the comments section, so let me say that I agree with Buckleysmon. If this is an imitation of what's common for the Japanese market, I'm not surprised. It's somewhat Manga like. There's enough preoccupation with sex that it interferes with the game and any other type of story line. Unless you really want to preoccupy yourself with Heileen's love life, you really have to wade through a LOT to get to anything dramatic or mentally challenging. And, the one scenario I played through was more concerned about the hookups than the final fate of the characters. I wouldn't be surprised if it always ends that way. I'm not say I'm giving it a 0, but, unless your number one interest is who's hooking up with who, it's easy for your interest to flag. For those who like it, though, I can confirm it's portable.

I just posted on the download page and wanted to leave a comment here too. I hope people with kids look at this before they let the kids see it. I don’t feel it's qualified to be called a game, it’s just “a book on disk”. If anyone has young kids please check it out before you let them “play” it. In my opinion it’s just plain sleezy and disgusting. The only thing nice about it is the music. I've only gotten into the 3rd chapter and I'm dumping it.

Hey, Terri. I got nothin' practical to add, but if you're curious, all that .py stuff refers to Python. It's a relative new, not too complex, program language. It's becoming more popular because it plays reasonably well with Microsoft's .net framework, which, as you probably know, is the foundation that Microsoft's current OS architecture is built on.

Heileen is a visual novel set in the 17th century. The characters based around the story are done in the anime style, as seen in many Japanese cartoons. The aim of the developers (Tycoon Games) was to create something different from the usual arcade games that we see all the time. As yet there’s no genre tag for this game, or is it just as it says a visual novel,

The following is the author’s scene setting:

Features:

•	Embark with Heileen in a unforgettable voyage to the New World. Meet with old friends, and make new ones.
•	Find romance, avoid dangers and life your life to the fullest!
•	Heileen is a cute 18 years old English girl.

She has a quiet life, without any real problems. But one day, her uncle Otto, a famous English merchant, decides that it is time for a change, and forces her to follow him on a journey to the New World.

During the voyage, she'll meet old and new friends and discover lots of secrets, and ultimately find what really wants for herself.

Play with her this fantastic voyage along eight chapters of intriguing dialogues. Each choice you make will have a consequence in your relationship with the other crew members and will determine which one of the three different finals you'll see.

Reference: http://www.heileen.com/ accessed 2nd August 09

Basically you have a series of images with text choices. Each choice leads to a different outcome. During the story you are given quests to complete. The game can be saved at any time by using the Esc button. You use a combination of keyboard keys and the mouse to progress through the game.

The following information is given when you first start the game up, but it only stays on the page for about 10 to 15 seconds:

How to Play:

1) ....You can use the page up and page down keys or the mouse wheel to scroll through previously viewed text.

2)....Clicking the Right Mouse Button (RMB) will bring up the games menu.

3)....If you are replaying the game in search of new endings, holding down the Ctrl key will fast-forward through text you've already seen

Preferences:

You can play the game in a window or full screen. You can also change the preferences to stop the dialogue auto skipping. There's also a button for using a joystick.

Note:

The game contains mild language and has sexual themes.

This game is intended for players age 14 and older.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Images:

All on one page:

http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n61/Whiterabbit_01/gaotd/Forums/Heileen/?albumview=grid

As a Slideshow:

http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n61/Whiterabbit_01/gaotd/Forums/Heileen/?albumview=slideshow

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion

I’ve certainly never seen the like before, so it’s going to be hard to make a comparison against other games. The nearest I can think of to compare it to is those picture based point and click games. It’s certainly different to the usual arcade games, but I’m not sure that I’ll be keeping it as I prefer something with a little more action. I did like the music.
