Just so you know, if you want vBulletin you will need to purchase it. However there are many free forum software so no need for vBulletin.

Hi wjs3456,

Sorry for replying so late, I had to let go of my old XP SP3 PC last weekend and am now using a Vista driven one.

It's almost like going back to School! LOL ;)

This site might be interesting: http://www.forumotion.com/en/create-forum/

Here their advertising blurb: Everyone can create his free forum, in a few seconds, without any technical knowledge, and begin to discuss immediately!

The interface of the forum is easy to use and to personalize. How to create a free forum?

Simply begin with this first step by choosing a style for your forum.

Don't worry, you can always easily change to a different version anytime you want.

It is rated "Green" here: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/forumotion.com

I intend to try it when my new machine is up to speed!

Hope this helps

Hello wjs3456,

A good place to start would be at “eHow”. As the name suggests you can learn how to do just about everything. I’ve used the service on four separate occasions, and I don’t have any complaints. The modules are well written and straightforward. Here is a link where you can get more information. http://www.ehow.com/search.aspx?s=create+a+forum&Options=0

You could also check out SoYouWannaLearn.com. This is a link to a course that might be useful; the name of the course is “Elements of a Website” http://www.soyouwanna.com/lesson/16_1_elements-of-a-web-site.html

My husband belongs to several forums (I only belong to the best, this one!!!) and has gotten quite disgruntled with some people on one of the forums. He has been thinking about setting up his own forum (Old Geizer's) just for folks like him that like to talk about everything from guns, politics (not so much, can be quite explosive at times), etc., but I am not sure where to start. He is talking about VBulletin. Your thoughts or suggestions would be very helpful.
