Suppose I was one of the lucky ones.
Managed to activate on the 2 PCs we had installed the day b4, without any trouble, after the KeyMaster post.

Though I havent used it yet, all my DRMed stuff has already been "de-DRMized" w the Wondershare Converter we got a while back ;-)

Though I was annoyed that I didn't get the software, in light of Ceejay's message I'm actually happy now that I didn't. The developer clearly does not understand how to market its product, so I'm quite sure that one of its competitors will eventually (if not sooner) eat its lunch in the marketplace. GAOTD should be very wary of doing business with the developer ever again based on how the developer handled things and how it treated one of GAOTD's members (and possibly anyone else who e-mailed the developer seeking a FAIR resolution). The last thing GAOTD wants is to start losing its members based on the action (or more accurately, inaction) of a single developer.

For those of you who are interested, there are some other free alternatives already out there, and more coming on the market every day.

I agree with you, Samiam and GMMan...I tried for hours last night, emailed them and this was their response to me:

So, I tried a few more times today...and it still says, on their Web site activation:

An error occurs while generating activation code for you.
Please write to support@drm-removal.com describe the problem, date and time and we will send your activation code to you.

LOL, not ONLY is this the repeated issue so many had that is NOT resolved, but they are 'willing' for US to PAY them 50% to get it???....They had to have done this on purpose to limit the activation codes and try and fool us into paying to try this. AND they are so literate they spelled "inconvenience" on their web site WRONG...LOL. Maybe it's a good thing to not have it. Such a shame though...I have NEVER had a problem with anything from Giveawayoftheday programs in all these years.

I vouch for a rerun, with either no activation system (on the developer's side) or one that actually corresponds with GAOTD time and actually works.

I agree ChipperT. The DRM folks screwed up, and then they screwed their potential customers (or people who could refer customers to them) by greatly shortening the activation period. I did keep the program installed from yesterday and it did not activate today.

Well, there was only 30 minutes left of the offer, but I decided to try again. I'd missed the link to the developers home page previously, so followed the link and found I could input the serial that was provided yesterday together with each of my machines system I.D's. The activation code was provided and I was able to register the program. I tried it with a downloadable demo of the program on my laptop and that also activated. Though as notblocklox ponts out you needed to have kept a copy of the serial that was provided yesterday.

I installed this program on the day it was available and it worked great, but then I lost audio on my system, so I uninstalled DRM Removal to try and fix the problem. I was given the activation code, but I was never sent any email with a license code. Any chance I might be able to get that?

And by the way, my attempt to activate was before the 3:30 pm time frame. But I could not even reinstall because it was after GoTD's limit (even though I downloaded yesterday).

Yes, even though the "GoTD" offers free software it still sucks when this does not work. After all, there was a contract there whether or not the software was free. The contract stated that if we downloaded and followed the rules, we would be able to use the software for free. That contract was broken. There should be amends. I cannot activate the software due to that breach. Those of us who downloaded during the time period should be able to activate that copy at any time.

Hi, EscSmitty and others, you can not download and install this programme any more.
Only those users who still have the unfinished set-up from yesterday on their systems are able to register it today.
When you have deleted it already you have to wait until a re-run in some future.

Take the giveaways as a lottery, sometimes you win sometimes not; you should be sporting about it.

Agreed ke7tdl. It would seem that the DRM Removal folks are located in the Ukraine (or at least that's what the WHOIS entry for the domain name would seem to indicate). That might explain the whole 23:30 GMT time frame. Still completely unhelpful for those of us who would like to actually USE THE PRODUCT. I don't know about anyone else, but how can I recommend a product if I can't use it? Perhaps more importantly, WHY would I want to recommend a product if: (1) the maker can't get its free promotion registration situation right BEFORE releasing it on GAOTD, and (2) resolves the problem by limiting the time frame during which U.S. customers from activating the product?

Hello! HELP!!! I've tried and tried I just cannot get this to download and install! Is it possible to obtain a fresh new copy from somewhere?

I got you're responce and tried to re-run setup.exe but now it tells me the period is over.

What next.

This resolution is completely unhelpful to most of us in the US. I spent about an hour last night trying to get the activation to work. However, I am stuck at work today until well after 3:30 pm PST. Oh well.

I've tried to activate but got a message saying that the product cannot be activated because my license code had already been activated by another windows installation with a system ID different of that calculated for my computer by the DRMREMOVAL application.

Admin - what about those of us in the U.S. who are at work (and have been at work since you posted that things have been sorted out)? For those of us on the East Coast of the U.S., 23:30 GMT translates to 6:30 p.m., which is difficult to meet due to the time frame of your average workday. Normally GAOTD allows you to install and register free software up to at least 11:59 p.m. PST to accommodate the West Coast of the U.S.

What are the chances of asking the DRM folks to extend things to 11:59 p.m.?

Na, still not working for me. Ah well, I'm sure I can live without such a program, lol.

thanks admin. I also had problems activating mine on any of my computers and laptop. :) Will try to activategain. Thankfully I didn't delete the program. That was a job for later today when I always do a desktop cleanup.

Hi, all, sorry to hear about the problems. It won't help you when I tell you that I am quite lucky that I got it just in time? Immediately after my activation the first posts appeared with this problem. I do really hope there will be help for you all. Especially for the roof-problems :).

I tried that several times with different ID's (before the time did expire), but it's not working. I get: "An error occurs while generating activation code for you.

Most probably not. But it definitely was a giveaway which started just 5 1/2 hours after totality of the longest total solar eclipse over 140 years! What, if the DRM activation system in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv has been knocked out of its stride by the sunlight's whim?!

I have to concur w the others.
Followed the ReadMe instructions (as always!) but still could not activate.

Tried to on my laptop, went back to restore point, re-installed - still no go.
Hubby went to the office and tried on the PC there, w same results.
On the 4 attempts, got the same message as Jedu.
All OS' are XP SP2, FF2 & FF3

•• Although, after each attempt, the SW header changed from "Trial" to "Unlimited Trial". Does this mean anything?

I have the same problem with getting the activation code. I hope they can fix this problem so we can get an activation code. I think that its ridiculous that this problem occurred for atleast the last quarter of the giveaways time. Hopefully they'll either rerelease it or send us new license codes so we can activate it.

I have the same problem on two computers (Windows Vista). Going back to restorepoint and start all over again did not help. I hope this problem will be solved. Seems to be a great program.

so. what happens next? They just continue to ignore us until it expires? Must remember that.
