Hey GMMan, I doubt he meant rip the DVDs to mp3s. I made the assumption he meant rip the CDs to mp3s and then also wants to make copies of DVDs. Though I could be wrong.

I use Windows Media Player for ripping CDs. Have tried a few things for DVDs but have not settled on one specific one yet. Are you trying to rip copy protected movies?

Practically all media players work. For Windows, the most accessible option is Windows Media Player, though it rips music into WMA by default. The most popular thing is iTunes, as most people have it (either with an iPod or bundled with QuickTime). I think it works relatively, though by default it rips as AAC. I think there is a ripping feature in foobar2000. WinAmp is probably capable as well.

I need a good ripper for ripping mp3s of a cd/dvd, any recommendations.
