Thanks for the info rabbit. Years ago I recalled that I couldn't even
install HL2 cause I had demon tools on my system so don't like steam
stuff to much. (no refund on games, and it wouldn't even install)

Wèèèèèll... the water level rises and at some point there's nowhere to go (at least not in the demo) but I'll admit... the first time I didn't even realize that it was water *oops*

Hey midori, remember me mentioning Oblivion in another thread? Steam have just added it to their catalogue for around $15. It's a bargain at that price, though I'd hang on to see if they do a deal for the set (Oblivion, Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. It's a good possibility, just to promote it.

Blueberry Gardens Forever! Thanks for word on this enchanting game, berrylox... have you given Steam a try? I was hesitant to join also, but thanks to wrabbit's encouragement I did, and now I have oodles of bargains. They somehow... treat you special! Like they know you! I'll check out the other that wrabbit mentioned. :)

Great game and well worth the measly £3.99 (around $5) I bought it last weekend with Red Orchestra. It’s great to see original indie games for such low prices. Another one I’d recommend called ‘And Yet it Moves, which has recently been halved in price is similar to Blueberry. My daughter loves Bluberry and I think it’s marvelous. I'm sure Bluberry was on offer last weekend. I paid a few pounds for it. (£3.99 I think)

To Buzz,

Steam is a games manager - well more than a manager as it also gives you something similar to Gamespy or Gameshadow. Which means you can update all the games you buy via steam as soon as the updates become available. You can join a multitude of game groups for example our own Giveawayoftheday group, or a game specific group such as Left 4Dead or Half Life 2 (which are two of the games we play in our group so far, but are hoping to expand to Unreal Tournament, Red Orchestra and others) As you make friends with other gamers, you can follow their progress, see what they are playing and join whatever online games they are playing as well as take a look at what other games they are buying. On top of all this you have access to a load of different dedicated servers for most of the games that are sold via Steam; and, best of all , there's game deals every weekend, where you can get upwards of 75% of specific games. Most of the games I've bought since joining the Steam community (well over 60 games since January 09) have been deals; for example I got the excellent Red Orchestra for only £2.99 last weekend. Several weeks ago I bought Left 4 Dead for 40% off and my first deal which cost around £5 got me five excellent arcade games (Trials 2, Eets, Multiwinia, Graviton 2 and IFluid). Several weeks ago one developer put virtually all of their catalogue up for grabs with deals between 75% to 50% off (eg Painkiller, Iron Warriors, Culpa Innata, Beyond good and Evil, Exoddus From Earth, Ghost Master, Sacred Gold and lots of others) Last week you could get the full set of Penumbra games for a few pounds.

Regards

Whiterabbit.

p.s.

You can download the Steam client for free from:

http://store.steampowered.com/about/

You can also add your non Steam games to the games section. There are some free games available. If you have an NVidia or ATI graphics card you can get Half Life 2 Deathmatch and Half Life 2 Lost Coast, which install to the Steam client.

p.s.

If you go over to the Steam site they say:

"Steam: The Nexus of Gaming"

and follow that up with:

Instantly access your favorite games:

The full Steam library and all future Steam releases are at your fingertips. After you've purchased a game, download it immediately and start playing.

Join the Steam Community:

Now it's easy to find someone to play with, meet up with friends, connect with groups with similar interests, and host and join chats, matches, and tournaments. Best of all, it's all free.

Chat with your friends while gaming:

With Steam's "Friends" service, you can talk to your friends while you play. You can also see when they're playing games and easily join the same servers together.
Easily browse multiplayer game servers
Steam's integrated server browser makes it easy to navigate thousands of Internet game servers.

Receive automatic game updates:

Hunting for patches and downloading from unorganized web sites is so twentieth-century. On Steam, your games stay up-to-date by themselves. No hassles.
Play your games on any PC

Once you have a Steam account, you can sign in from any PC to access your games. Your games are associated with your account, not your computer.

Enjoy Steam-only special offers:

From pre-release discounts to free-play weekends, Steam delivers what gamers value most.

Hi, Steam gamers,
when you are playing on Steam have a look on this wonderful gem :Blueberry Garden.

It is not a war-game and no shooting and fighting game.
Instead the developer ErikSvedang.com and the composer daduk produced a piece of art.

"Blueberry Garden is a short experimental game about curiosity and exploration. You take on the role of a creature investigating a mysterious world to find out what is going on there. It’s probably not very much like anything you’ve played before but I hope you will find it enjoyable!" (From Eric's website)
Here is the review from Indie Games: Review: Blueberry Garden (Erik Svedang)

Before buying it, read the blog and check the requirements.
If you have problems to run it, maybe you have to download: Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.0

It costs only $ 5.-. However this is one of very few games I would pay even € 20.- for - LOL
As I'm not a Steam fan, I have to wait until it is distributed elsewhere, meanwhile I will look at the art and listen to daduk's music.

My First Look at Blueberry Garden
Happy Gaming!
