Lol, and there I had decided to be respectful and not dub him 'hamster' again. But he HAS been a bit of a hamster lately, hasn't he? **@&;-D

Hi everyone.
I'm posting two games today, I really like revolt, so try that out!
Revolt
I don’t like racing games, it’s become clear to me. I don’t enjoyGran Turismo, I don’t play Need For Speed, and I only truly played oneracing game I enjoyed, Mario Kart. But now, I’ve found another gameworthy of being so excellent, so refined and polished, that I canactually go on saying that I love this game. It’s entirely perfect inmy eyes, and there couldn’t be a better racing game. That’s a opinionof course, but a opinion needs reasoning, and that’s my next step. The first thing you’ll notice is the standard resolution of Re-Volt,at a low 640-480. Once you’ve made a visit to options, and you’ve setit all the way up to 1024-786, you’ll notice the beauty of this game.Reflective surfaces are everywhere they need to be, the clean floors ofa grocery store, the sleek and shiny RC-cars, and the marble floors ofa large museum. Effects are vibrant and colorful, not to mentionpleasing to the eyes, everything from a flare impacting on anotherracer, or a oil puddle sending vehicles trailing off with oily skidmarks, look perfect.

The vehicles in Re-volt aren’t exactly what you’d expect, instead ofsome Porsche that can speed over 200 MPH, you commandeer small RC carsthat zoom around the interiors of various buildings. Although thismight drive off the more “hardcore” gaming crowd with it’s initialchildishness, missing this would be a foolish mistake. On harderdifficulties, the computer racers are brutal and unforgiving, weaponsyou unleash on other vehicles are perfectly balanced and all serve ause, and there are even unlock able RC’s. Weaponry ranges from homingfireworks that you send after targeted enemies, rolling metal balls tospeed down the path of oncoming opponents, and even a kamikaze like“self-detonation” weapon that’ll send nearby cars flying. Weaponsaren’t merely here to be fired off in full blazing glory, each andevery one of them has tactical purposes. Using oil-slicks in narrowdoorways can force cars to run through the slippery mess, or maybe evenusing “self-detonation” to send other cars off the path. You’ll hardlyfind yourself bored in the various tracks that each offer another playmethod to perfect.

Sound is another joy. Your environment actually makes you feelsmall, like the little RC you are controlling, all provided by theechoing and humming of the large interiors. The exteriors are filledwith the expected sounds, your RC grinds as it zooms across gravel, there’s a nice feeling of a Sunday afternoon as you race through asuburban neighborhood. My favorite atmospheric sounds though, is thelittle buzzing your RC creates. It’s a subtle yet perfect touch, and itnever seems to grow annoying or repetitive. Always, that buzzing keepsme coming back.

Overall, I can’t give Re-Volt any negatives, most likely the onlyproblem would be the loading length. Even on my high end PC, it tookabout 20 seconds to load a certain level. Another problem would be aincredibly rare bug, where the loading screen flips sideways from somereason, (The game runs normally though.) But these are all minorproblems, and won’t detract from Re-Volt’s final score.

I stand by my 5, you can’t keep a good racer back. Once you knowyou’ve found a racing game with merits, you’ll play it for quite sometime. Re-Volt is a addictive racer that will most likely please you,and if it doesn’t, well that’s your taste in gaming. Despite it’s largesize, just wait for the download, it’ll be worth it.

Extreme Racing
At http://gametop.com/, they have some decent free games, namely, Extreme Racers.

_________________________________________________________

Facts, good and bad,

Pros:

Graphics are really, really, clean. They look great.

Gameplay is quite enjoyable, very fun.

Many different tracks, cars, ect., enough to last you a week, we hope.

Cons (and lots of those, though, they don't make it too bad.):

The control of the cars, is really lose. You push left, and the car in the screen will rotate sharply to the left, but doesn't turn that sharp, or another car will rotate only slightly, but will turn sharply...

No car sounds. No screeeech, or engine revs. Nothing.

The racing is kind of bland, sort of. You can so a (nitro?) boost, every time a gauge fills up on the side, but other than that, it's just driving a car, trying to get past cars in a plush envirment.

A little bit too difficult. Just a little complaint.

I'd give it a 4/10. It lasts, sort of. It's fun, with limits, and graphics are plush, and clean.

Hope you all like the games,
