Hi cpedley! If you activate while the program is running (or listed in the system tray), it won't update to registered until you close and reopen. Win9x (including ME) you probably have to reboot.

My problem is that when I run Activate, it finishes by saying "Software is activated" but look in the ABout and GUESS WHAT YOU SEE????? TRIAL!!!

Now I know my firewall didn't cause the activate program to lie to me did it? If so it is a very bad influence on young 'activate-ers.

I was just posting the same thing...

I eventually managed to find the probable reason for the error message "Invalid key" which appeared when I tried to register some software. Today I carried my notebook in my office, downloaded RoboTask, installed it and try to activate it. I could not manage to do it, because of the "invalid key" error. Now I am at home, and I just tried to activate it: presto!, activation was successful.
The only difference between this morning and now is that at work I connect to the Internet through a proxy (with username and password), while at home I have a direct connection. Please note that the connection to giveawayoftheday.com was made - my personal firewall asked me to confirm the request; so I guess that activate.exe reads the dara for connection stored in Internet Explorer. But it may be that passing through a proxy modifies somehow the data which is sent.
I hope this could help you finding a solution to this annoying problem!
ciao, .mau.

It's not my firewall. It's my employer's. I have no control over it whatsoever. Everything must pass through the proxy server to get in or out.

I have downloaded a couple of giveaways, but every time I try to activate them it fails. I am behind a firewall and must use a proxy server to get out. What do I need to do to allow the activation to know about the proxy server so it will work?
