Hi again, Have worked out why Spaceinvaders 3D 'discarded' some of my personalised icons. I ran another game (a Missile command type) and the icons went missing again. This time when I clicked on the 'naked' blue and white icons I noticed the message 'cannot find file..C...Icons.'. It then dawned on me that I had moved the icon file during a tidy up, so I just reset the path and now they re-appear after games. Just thought I should let you know in case others have the same experience. Thanks for going to all the trouble re spaceinvaders 3d. All that happened was it installed itself without giving me an opportunity to decide where to put it, and then I could not find it, in any of the usual places. What bothered me a little, was that when I deleted the game, I lost my new icons for Windows Explorer shortcuts. (I keep a few on my cluttered desktop, and start menu.) They had recently been personalised with some cartoon character icons, and maybe that is why? If your icons were unaffected then that is probably all that it was. The other strange thing, was that the games folder went missing from the accessories start menu, which threw me for a while. It has only just occurred to me to simply move the games folder back to 'accessories' in the 'start menu', 'programs' folder. (I have just done that now, and it works just like before. I did download Chicken Invaders first, and am absolutely delighted with it. So thanks very much for that one, and all you generous help. After your kind re-assurances I will have another look at some of the other games, and try not to panic, if they appear to be a bit quirky, or do thing I do not understand. I've personally tested every game I've posted links to and have had no problems with them. I'll re-check and if there are problems I'll remove the link. In the mean time do a search for Spaceinvders 3D. It's usually installed to C:/Program Files, but some games do install to C:? amd C:/games I'll reinstall it myself to see exactly where it tyrys to install. Regards Whiterabbit several minutes later.................... Hi Art, Just reinstalled it and it plays absolutely fine. So far no problems with my computer, no virus warnings etc. Maybe it's not compatible with your system. Do you have DX 9.0 installed as that is a requirement? When you unpack the zip file the game is already unpacked and ready to play. It doesn't come with an installer, so all you need to do to get rid of the game is delete the unzipped folder and the zip file. The only registry entries will involve the unzipping process and the download. There are no registration details for the game as it requires no activation. I hope this helps and I'm sorry it's not worked for you. If you want a space invaders style game there are several more posted in the forums that may replace it. Chicken Invaders is one of the better versions and is funny as well. Please don't think that because you've had a bad experience with this game that all are going to be the same; there are some great games to be found in the game synopsis. p.s there's no need to apologise Art, we're all friends here.
