But many big vendors may not do it - and the typical "mum and dad" buying a PC for their son Jimmy to help with his homework - won't even know what an OS is - let alone the difference between XP Oem and Vista Retail/OEM. They will just buy a computer with whatever OS it has on it - ie. Vista.</p> <p>My point is regardless of what anyone here thinks about Vista compared to XP - now that Vista has been released - the numbers of users coming to GOTD (and everywhere else) will only continue to climb - and XP number will continue to drop. Most software in the past should've run just fine. You can always visit the vendors website each day to see if Vista compatibility is mentioned anywhere.
