Wow, thanks!

Today I revisited a freeware site previously mentioned here http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/1919#post-12233 and kept browsing until I landed on a database of musical tracks extracted form older games.

I like the music on Robbox (given away previously here). Generally, I prefer tracker music over oggs and etc. because I can "see" into the file and learn what the composer did. Also, the sound is usually of better quality if it's not a mo3.

Found another. Knytt Stories. The ambient music is great...but the best part is that there are many user levels out that that have more music out there, all totally free.

Sorry, tnip, but I'm afraid if the name's over a syllable or two, I, for one, am definitely looking to shorten it. After all, as people here unfortunately know, I've got to save my finger strength for my endless, long winded posts. :)

Wow....that must be a universal name...tnip. Everywhere that I visit, I get called that, no matter if I mention it or not. I've also been called pint, name, nips, and anything else even close. And thanks Midori, downloading now :P

That's an interesting idea 'tnip'. You can rip most music from these games if you wish. Usually they are in the .ogg format, so, unless you have a media player such as Winamp (which will play .ogg files) there's several audio converters freely available via the giveaways freeware section. Just go to the giveaways 'download' page and look to the bottom of the page fo the freeware library link. Then click on the audi and video section. Oh well here it is:

Good ones! I immediately liked the music in Caterpillars: The Revenge. Nice, as it feels as though you're riding on the caterpillar's back, just flowing along... :)

As a continuation of WR's game project, I was thinking....which games, in your opinion has the best music?
Synaesthete has to be my top one, and after that, I love the soothing music of Dyson.
