Aparently there is a Krull film remake in the works so there's a good chance that a game will come out of it, but as of yet I've not found any evidence of a remake of the game.

I couldn't remember the other weekend what I was doing to miss it and then it popped into my head. I was trying to help a friend get a copy of Left4dead going that I bought him. He got me into WOW a couple of years back, but he hasn't even touched another game since then. He liked Doom, so I thought this would be a good way to break the cycle.

Dark Sector looks ok. Kind of reminds me of Krull, cause of the glaive.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krull_(video_game) Wow, talk about an oldie.

The news shows it now, but it never did show the sale for Midway till I looked at it. All Steam was showing me was Killing Floor for 5 bucks off and plants vs. Zombie sale. Seems they post the style of games you are looking at in the spotlight.

On another note, I ended up partially winning or losing my disability fight. They said from june 2004 till Jan. 2007 I was disabled, but I am ok now. I will end up appealing it, but they are going to go ahead and pay for that time.Thank goodness.
I might end up going on a game shopping spree soon, when the check gets here. I do now I am gonna by that nvidia 3d set up to play my games. You can also get a 120mhz tv and watch movies in 3d. I'll have to see how the games work out before I before I buy another lcd tv.

Dark Sector has 33% off until 11th May and if you pre-order Battlestations Pacific you get Battlestations Midway for free (I paid over $35 for Miday when it was released two years ago. The latest version looks like its a definite improvement on the first one. I found Miday mildly entertaining at the time, but didn't really play it much; partly because I bought Silent Hunter 4 around the same time. Both are naval orientated, but SH4 wa sgraphically superior. (though I ended up not playing SH4 until now, lol)

Dark Sector isn't worth full price in my opinion, but with a third off I reckon it's worth the purchase. I bought it when it was last on offer (I got it for half price I think). The graphics are great to fantastic, though the game play is pretty much standard fare. There's an horror element to the game. The character you play is infected with some sort of virus that turns one of his arms into a deadly weapon (a three pronged throwing knife that looks pretty cool, but becomes a little annoying when you fancy using a rifle occasionally because after about 15 to 20 seconds you always automatically drop the rifle you're using (which disintigrates) and revert back to the throwing knife. (though you can use a pistol without losing it) It's more like a boomerang, but with three blades.

Darn it. I completely missed the two worlds sale. I hate missing games that go for that cheap and are supposed to good. I saw info on it, but didnt even glance at it. Is it a free multiplayer? It looks a single player with an option to play online.

They have a demo of Zeno Clash now rabbit. I havent downloaded it yet, but I am going to tonight.

Steam are now selling the Two Worlds: Epic edition for $5 or $6 . It's similar to, but no where near as good as Bethesda's masterpiece Oblivion. You do need the free Steam Client before you can download it.

Those two are stand alone games. Death-match is the multi-player aspect of the game. Lost Coast is a completely stand alone game, however I'm not sure if you have to have HL2 to play it. I've spent more money at Steam than I have at gamestop in a few years so my games list is getting a little long. Someone please take me up on my offer because I'd hate for these two games to go to waste.

Hi, wizz... I'm stocked on Half-Life or I'd grab them. Someone take him up on this great offer! :-D
In fact, I was looking through freestufftimes.com software for the BigFish games last night and ran across an old Steam offer that's still active. If you use nVidia for graphics, you can get the Portal demo (tho the full version is out and came in some package I got), HL2 LostCoast, and HL2 DeathMatch (I guess those are considered mods?) and Peggle Extreme. So I got the two for HL2.

So if anyone has nVIDIA, here's the link:
http://www.steamgames.com/nvidia/
Of course you have to sign up for an account (free) if you don't have one, for those out there that don't use Steam. I've got quite a Steam collection in a fairly short amount of time, just getting a couple of "box sets." Great deals. So check it out if you don't have those, wizz... and curious: if those are mods, I'm assuming you have to own Half-Life 2 for them to play? or are they stand-alone games in themselves.

Ah. Well, sometimes it's one or the other, GMMan... have fun with your purchase! I'm gonna love getting into Half-Life... finally. And it's like I got it for free (along with some other games), though someone had bought it probably back when it was new for my hubby. And the Orange Box looks superb. You still have some time to scrape up $9.99... :)

It worked! It worked! Thanks fellas! I typed the number on the CD box in the activate box, and it downloaded not just Half-Life, but also Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Deathmatch Classic, Half-Life Blue Shift, Opposing Force, Richochet, and Team Fortress Classic. All older games, I'm sure, but part of an update patch they put out with Half-Life.

Aaaannnnndddd... I did order the Orange Box. Yippee! Took a loan and will replace it before it's noticed. And yes the loan party is aware of it. ;) Sooo. Where do I start? I guess beginning the original Half-Life. Onward!! *&:-D

I would contact steam and explain your problem. So long as you havce the reg code there maybe something they can do. (They may give you a download link to install the game onto steam). I've not had to use any of my orange box discs since installing them, nor either of the other DVD based games such as Empire Total War and Saints Row. Though I did need to install them initially from disc. Once I'd done that I could install the game via Steam onto any of my other computers without using the disc..

Anyway, the offer is still there midori. Remember you have to buy the game before the end of Sunday otherwise it'll increase in price 66%. I could have pay for it right now and it'll be downloadable on your computer straight away.

I've definitely really got into Steam despite still liking to have hard copies of my games. I've now bought over 30 games via steam since January and only have three that were DVD based, though at least three of those 30+ games I'd already bought previously on DVD or DtoD (Unreal Tournament 3, Far Cry and Gravitron 2) but wanted two copies of the former so that I could play online with my son. (He's getting to an age where I'd like to play online with him - before he thinks its too uncool to play with dad, lol - yeah I know, UT3 may be a little old for him yet, but I think with supervision he's okay)

Aw, Wrabbit... you're makin' me cry. *sniff* Honestly! What a gallant bunny you are. But don't worry, I'll come up with the moola somehow... it's just that hubby won't contribute to my gaming habit, which he totally doesn't understand. But I'm expecting a check, so will juggle things a bit. But I'm truly too touched to express my feelings.

And thanks, wizz and wrabbit... I'll give that a try at Steam. I got the opening screen to come up and got all excited, but then it kept asking for the disc, which was right there but being unrecognized. And yes, when I asked for updates it sent me to Steam, so they're definitely related. I'm heading there now. *&:-) and &:-* (a kiss for Wrabbit. shhh...)

Midori, as long as you have the game and an activation code, you should be able to activate it through steam. At the top of the steam screen, click game and the very first option is to activate a game on steam. From there you just put in your activation code found on your booklet or game case.

Steam is a cool application because it is a game manager. You don't actually have to have bought the game from them, to install it with steam. You do, however, have to make sure that Steam sells the game. As long as steam sells it, you can activate it on steam.

Episode one is actually an expansion. It continues the story where HL2 left off. Similarly, Episode 2 picks up where Episode 1 left off. I believe Episode 3 is in the works if I'm not mistaken. I'm so ready to dive into Episode 2, I've been dying to know what happens after 1. BEST SERIES EVER!!!!!

By the way midori I'm sorry, but I've forgotten all about Two Worlds and I give you my wizzard's guarantee that it will be in the mail Monday afternoon and you will received it by the end of the week. =)

My versions of HL2 and Episode 1 are now gone, but I still have a guest pass to Team Fortress 2 for 3 days if anyone would like it.

Hi Midori,

I bought the Orange Box as a set of DVD's but once I installed them onto my computer they became registered with Steam. I think Steam are associated with Valve? So it may be possible to activate HL1 via Steam so you won't need the old discs. Still I really think you should throw caution to the wind on this one. The Half Life Series has won so many awards and is critically acclaimed as one of if not the best of this type of game. I'll buy it for you if you're unable to afford it. Just PM me if you're interested. Your comments on the free games thread have been worth paying the small amount necessary. You have until tomorrow to decide.

I'll need your Steam Email to gift the box to you. There's no obligation. I don't want the money back. :)

Hi, wizz... not sure what you mean by activate it through Steam. Wouldn't you have to have bought it there? Ohhh, Spacepixie... beat me to the punch. You lucky Spacepixie, you! Wizz, is Episode 1 a sequel to the original HL? Was hoping to get a paycheck today so I could grab that Orange.

They do allow you to give the games away if you've already purchased them....so I now have HL2 and Episode 1 available if anyone would like them. I also have a guest pass for 3 days for Team Fortress if anyone would like that as well.

By the way, I'm purchasing this finally because I was relunctant to pay so much for 5 games, of which I already had 2. I believe when they first announced the orange box, they told owners of HL2 and Ep. 1 that they could gift the two games from orange box to a friend. I'm not sure if that is still the case however, and will find out.

midori, you may try activated it through steam if you haven't already. What kind of system specs do you have? Definitely play the first because it is an awesome game.

Darn. Just opened the original Half-Life box and installed it, but it won't play on my computer. Too old, I guess... tried changing compatibility, etc. Sierra doesn't even exist anymore. Any ideas? Or is it not worth even playing, compared to the later releases.
