Today, 03/26/09 I would have missed out on Sothink offer ... which is what I was looking for ... but again NO E-MAIL ...

BTW, how come NOW again I can NOT Save the web-page as a reference ... This happened before again and I brought it to their Attention and got fixed ... but here we go again!

Q1: Any Ideas on Saving the Page!?!?

Q2: Is there anywhere within "User Control Panel" ... you know like other Forums that I can Choose to Track a Thread? For example this one!?!?
I Can't find the Button thingy!

Well, I came back on because I let some things in my personal life get the better of me and thought that I came off as kind of an a%%hole in my post. I am sorry if I said anything that I shouldnt have and hope that I didnt cause any hard feelings. I know that most everyone appreciates what they do here and most likely tries to express it the best they can.

I still think that they are under appreciated and know I am not alone in wishing there was a better way to say thank you then .. well. .just saying it. I know that the notification has been down a bit and it would be nice to have it up and running again. I assume that they are looking into it. I hope that everyone has a great day/night and again.. my apologies for coming off the way I did.

I know we all appreciate the work they do to find the software, I have always relied on the emails to let me know what is on offer, this is the first time I have been to the forums so had no idea it wasnt reliable.

However I really think the idea of the email is to let you see what is on offer and not clog up their website and thus increase their cost of running it but only visiting if you want to download one of the offers.

I am fully aware of how long it takes to find a decent program, test it, and after 5 or 6 downloads find the right one, it takes hours and hours. But that was my idea in joining GOTD, to save me that precious time, as well as get a chance to fully test a program before parting with any of my hard earned cash.

so still grumpy... still want to see the download opened up again ..Cause I DO want that program!

I have to agree with Hoss, copmom, and WhiteRabbit. I have a button on my toolbar and just click it to see what is there. While I am here I check the forum and such. I know in the very beginning I used the notification, but it stopped working and it was no big deal. I think that the concentration here is probably trying to keep up with the giveaways that people want.

I hate to sound negative about some of the people here, but I notice that if one thing doesnt work right then everyone seems to come down on the GotD staff from every angle. I want to know where the thanks is for all that hard work they put into trying to get us the giveaways and keep things going? Flame me or hate me; I dont care, but I think it is pure laziness if you cant just click a button to see what the new FREE giveaway is. Oh, BTW, I have seen it posted many times that the notification system isnt working and suggestions of not depending on it.

I've never bothered with the Email service simply because I know there's going to be a new application and two games over the weekend. It's quicker to navigate directly to the giveway site than to boot up my Email. Basically what HOSS is saying (only read what you said HOSS, after I'd written my couple of sentences above, lol.

I just wonder why the Email service is there anyway? Maybe we could have the ability to post images in the forums instead of getting email notifications. :) That would definitely improve them. :)

I agree with Hoss.. it's not just GOTD's fault, we just can't bank on emails.. sometimes your email server can be down. So, just get in the habit of checking here daily.. bookmark http://www.giveawayoftheday.com

I don't rely on the email, I just visit here everyday. It's just one click to get here and it only takes a few seconds to check out the offer of the day. It's not a hassle for me and I usually stick around and check out the forums as well. :)

I have been Complaining to GAOTD folks left & right for awhile that their E-Mail Notification is NOT consistent ...

I looked and looked for their 03/23/09 e-mail also ... and nothing was there!

So, I guess we should just MANUALLY check for it on a daily basis since we CAN'T depend on GAOTD e-mail system.

Hate to sound so Negative toward a FREE SERVICE ... but either Deliver or Don't Offer an E-Mail Notification System.

I wonder since the Goof was on GAOTD side ... they would consider offering the 03/23/09 Offer again.

I just recvd the email for the cryptdrive AND swf decompiler in ONE message which was NOT sent on the 23rd but on the 24, the decompiler is no longer available for download!!!
