Wait a sec.
You said that you are using WIN XP SP2, but you have installed Windows in WINNT folder? Am I making a mistake? Can you tell me the name of your Windows folder? And like Lee said, what apps you are trying to install when errors show up. What is your Antivirus software? What kind of internet connection you are using (dial-up, cable...)?

Maybe you should tell us what operating system you run and what the application is you are trying to install.

I get this error message sometimes when I try to install an app. I've downloaded from the internet:

 C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and
Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Then there"s a choice to 'Close or Ignore' .

Could someone PLEASE tell me what this means and what eles you know about it? [!!]
What happens if you choose 'Ignore'? Will it mess-up yr. PC?
===============================================================================

Some times I get this one too:

 C:\Documents and Settings\'my name'\Desktop\'program name'_setup .exe is not a valid
Win32 application.

Then it just has an 'OK' button.

I contacted one of the web sites about this and they said there shouldn't be any problems w/ the download link. They don't know why I keep getting the message.[I tried more than once to redownload + install it.]

====*[I am NOT referring to any of the progs. from GAOTD.]*======

ANY feedback on these is GREATLY APPRECIATED !!

THANK YOU for your Time & Consideration!
