If there was a virus/spyware in the download - it would be a first. To date there have been lots of false positives - but nothing proven. While it is certainly possible that something could slip through - GOTD team has said that they do check all the giveaways. The file probably would not delete because another process currently had the file open. Being in the temp folder - this is almost certainly the reason.

Lakjin , I have spyware doctor that did not detect it either, but after install I gave my system a quick clean with Ccleaner & one file would not remove from my temp file 'Temp\IXP000.TMP', System Mechanic said it was a 'CoolWebSearch' variant & Googling it said it was malware. It would not just delete, I had to aggressively remove it. my system was clean before I installed 'Ringtone maker' & I didn't go to any other websites after installing it, so there is only one place it would come from,'Ringtone maker'.

Dang and I thought my theory was clever.

@dingo - Avira detected no such thing.

Nothing to panic about (I hope) was just a "comments allowed" check box had been missed by whoever set the giveaway up.

I reenabled it for them - (hope there wasn't a more sinister reason why comments weren't allowed for this giveaway).

'Ringtone maker' installed a 'CoolWebSearch' trojan/spyware on my computer. I thought all software offered on this website was clean! I think I will use more caution in the future.

Calm down guys. It is probably only because there is no moderator available right now and the mods don't want a huge list of comments when they come back =) The comments will be up soon I bet, no worries.

Till then you are welcome to read my review on it =)

Strange!

I have never seen that happen before...I like to read the comments on the software side, the games side is a no problem for me.

No idea why the comments are closed, looks kinda suspicious. There's a free program called Audacity that will do this, provided your phone will take a standard format, like mp3. It's great for a lot of other things too. It doesn't take a lot of learning to open a file, cut a piece out of it, and rename that bit whatever you want. I guess essentially that's what Ringtone Maker does, so I have to wonder why it's authors consider it so special. I've just built something similar for a uni project, it's that simple.

I don't know if this is in the right place.
The comment section for "ringtone maker" is closed, atleast for me.

So I'm posting here instead:

I cannot find a preview button, so trying to make a ringtone from a song is like a shot in the dark.

If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.
