Sukibabe,

should work, only ones I've had problems getting rid of are the default microsoft ones, they've got an annoying habit of returning when doing a 'repair' on the o/s,unless you clear them from backups as well.

Nice to see you Robert...now put that in English, lol!

The program is behaving badly on my computer, this time it brought up pctsTray.exe, which is part of WinPatrols software...an error occurred in the application...send bug report, so I tried to send and it brought up a screenshot of that "Woodland Falls Clock" that I mentioned, it wouldn't send it because I don't have the Plus feature I am sure!

So, I am going to get rid of that screensaver, maybe the chick who made it screwed something up! I noticed that another user screensaver from their site was bringing up errors too, that one was gone in a flash...it was evident from the beginning!

Expand please: "The only bad thing about the program is the default 2Flyer screensaver setting, which can be changed in a jif."

Thanks, Suki
P.S. Ran in through SpyBot...came up no problems!

2FlyerScreensaver Pro copies three pre made configurable .scr files to your system 32 folder.(Flash,Image,Video and Web.scr) and a FlyerSaver.002 file with the settings.

(If you rightclick on any of the .scr files ,you can chose test, configure or install too).

The main exe of the program (ConfigureSaver.exe) launches Image.scr to configure the existing 2Flyer screensaver(flash,Image,Video or Web.scr) or create a new one.
Unchecking all items in the Web saver part ,prevents downloading the google,aol,msnbc.com webpages and prevents making an unwanted internet connection.

The only bad thing about the program is the default 2Flyer screensaver setting, which can be changed in a jif.

I am running the same OS as Messenger and it is 32 bit...

While I didn't get the pop-up thing, Scotty(WinPatrol)started barking this morning! I was working on a project with it that I had saved, but I wasn't finished and I did not set it as my screensaver...when I went to bed last night my computer was on, but my monitor was off, then like I said,I awoke to Scotties bark...I left it set as my screensaver which I have set to go on after 30 minutes of non-use, but it didn't come up so I shut the monitor off...
I also had downloaded from their site one of the users screensavers, it was called "Woodland Falls Clock", while this was not a perfect saver it was nice...I could see the mistakes in the clock hands she had made...I set it as the saver and was sitting on the couch with my Laptop, when I noticed a flash on my Desktop Monitor(which is in a hutch in a nook in the living room), I didn't think anything of it at first, because my Netgear router which stands up on its side has this weird blue motion circle in the center of it that makes some strange flashes of its own, lol!
This kept happening so I set another saver in its place, no more bright flash..., I don't know what the problem is, but if this program is trying to rule my roost it will be gone since we have no tech support for it! It might be fighting with Astro Gemini, which I haven't removed yet!

@ Deserthead47
I have screensavers in my list that were trials, or no longer work, will your method remove them from that list? When I remove the ones in add and remove programs, the names still appear in the list!

I had run the program through McAfee and they turned up nothing, think I will check it with Spybot, I don't have WinPatrol's Plus, just the basic I use for controlling my start-up programs...maybe it has attached itself to them too!

Thanks, Suki

Thanks Deserthead, I did find the files to delete in the windows' system32 folder. Above I misnamed the file in my above post. It's called Image Saver, not Image Maker. It seems after clicking on the 3 files, 2 would give me the annoying pop-up and one didn't After getting rid of the 2 extra Image Saver files, that seemed to stop the pop-ups I was getting. But I'm still going to keep the RunDefaultSaver.exe removed out of this program. There is no reason why a software like this one should even have a exe file like this making their program the default without the users permission or knowledge or input. Again thanks.........................Jerry (aka) Messenger

After reading the comments on February 7th, yesterday’s 2Flayer giveaway, I thought I’d give it a try out. Using a flat screen I really don’t need to use any screensavers but do like to keep a small collection of them for ha ha’s.
After installing, it activated and seems to be registered. It just says full version in the “About” section in the help menu. Everything seemed to work great for the little testing I got to do with it. It was near bed time trying this, so I shut down the computer and went to sleep. Today I turned on the computer and a second after windows was done loading up my desktop I get a pop-up box informing me:

“Don’t miss out!

Your 30 day trial period is over and now, with great regret, 2Flyer is forced to close. Buy Now you’ll wonder why you waited.

Do you want to register 2flyer now?

_Your order is risk-free because of our 100% unconditional 30 day money_back guarantee.”

With the buttons yes or no, at the bottom of the pop-up.

Tilting my head slightly to the side and raising an eyebrow, “Huh? 30 DAYS??? It hasn’t even been 10 hours!!!” “WITH GREAT REGRET 2Flyer IS FORCED TO CLOSE???” My hand wasn’t even near the mouse to open any program!!!
After checking a few autostart programs that I use to control what loads up at windows startup, I didn’t see any changes made or added. The strange part is this 2Flyer pop-up kept appearing every few minutes over and over, and when I do open 2Flyer it works perfect and still reads in the About of the help menu “Full Edition”

I only downloaded this program from GAOTD and read the txt file instructing me to just run the setup file. It activated no problem with the grey GAOTD pop-up and web site both opening up informing me that 2Flyer is activated.
After looking in screensaver section of my display properties I noticed that 2Flyer made itself the default screensaver when I always have the choice of “none” selected. So after selecting “NONE” and hitting apply, 2Flyer would reset to default again. Each time it did the above popup would appear along at the same time. It also installed 3 listings titled “Image Maker” in the screensaver list selection of the display property.
I opened the program folder in the directory C:\Program Files\2Flyer\Screensaver Pro, and noticed that there are 3 exe files:
ConfigureSaver.exe…..runs the program
clsdesk.exe…………..not sure why it’s used here but what this exe does on its own is remove any wallpaper you might have on your desktop if you click on it.
RunDefaultSaver.exe…………this is the culprit that keeps resetting this program to be the default screensaver causes the pop-up I kept getting every minute. I removed this file and no longer have the pop-up automatically appearing. The program now only resets itself when I run the 2Flyer software and then the pop-up appears again when going into the display properties. Tho my anti-virus and spy programs didn’t pick anything up, I could see why some people mentioned that they did.
I’m running Windows XP SP2 2005 Media Edition. Not sure if it matters but whatever, I guess this software is out of here for me.
Now if some one could refresh my memory on how to get the 3 installed listings titled “Image Maker” in the screensaver list selection removed I’d feel better.

Hi, G!, my puter (Vista HP 32 Bit) and I like this program and have no problems with it. Even my rigorous Mr. Kaspersky and several anti malware tools haven't found anything suspicious.
I hope your problem is solved.

G,

I did not face any of the problem you did. Sorry to hear of your problems...2Flyer really is a nice program.

Avira did not pick up any virus. Nor did I find that 2Flyer automatically set my screensaver - I set it myself.

Also, if you go to Help -> About you will see that it says "Full Edition" if you registered it by yesterday. Registration for the program did not involve anything but running Setup.exe.

Hope that helps,

Hi folks,

I wonder if the Regular contributors GAOTD Programs Reviewers (i.e., Ashraf, and others) check these forum or not ...

But here is a POSSIBLE PROBLEM with "2Flyer ScreenSaver Pro" Giveaway Software on Feburary 7, 2009 ...

I installed this program on my Laptop that has Vista Home Premium SP1, 64-Bit with no problem ... I thought this program was a program TO MAKE ScrenSavers and NOT a screensaver program that would INSTALL itself into your Windows screensaver WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION & Knowledge ...

Since I installed this program ... my laptop has come to a CRAWLING STOP even with the SIMPLEST Application(s).

I did read that some folks AntiVirus program has tagged it as a TROJAN ... (BitDefender for one) ... So, I am hoping that somebody can reply to my Q's ... by the way the PROGRAM has been removed from my Laptop ...

Q1: Has anybody bben experiencing a SLOW-DOWN of their computer/laptop?
Because I have been experiencing a Choke-Down of operation for the simplest task as opening a Word or Excel or any other application.

Q2: Has anybody seen where the heck is the Registration Info for this program?

Thanks,

G!:)
