Do you mean adding the word Yahoo to the search key words box?
Oh, I guess you mean the Yahoo search engine? Not a fan of that one, but if it works for ya...

Rune,

Eureka! LOL
You should try that site:giveawayoftheday.com "name" search with Yahoo!
Amazing...no problem with the 3 comment display with this search engine...

Actually, one can easily modify the custom Google search URL I provided earlier to fine tune a search (just tried it and it works pretty well, although the wacky thing GAOTD or bbPress servers have been doing - only showing 3 messages/disabling "more messages" - presented a problem with the Smoozles page)

If pearl wants to search comments on the Games area only, then the global search string could be Games Comments

To winnow things down further to a particular game, just add that game's name to the search term input box after launching the global site search

Not sure what Robert meant by the "front page area" but the only minorly problematic search is for posts (or posters) in what I call Crazy Comments Theatre (GAOTD software, not games) since they're stored as subdomains under the main URL, unlike games. Still, a little fiddling with key words and you should be able to extract blood from the turnip.

This example zeros in on our dear Wabbit's Game Entries. He's been a busy widdle wabbit, hasn't he?

Using both, the GOTD forums search and the Google search(within the giveawayoftheday domain) should give you a fairly good picture of the forum activity of a member.

But I think maybe black.pearl is talking about the front page comments section.
Having a search button for those on GOTD,now that would make my day!
:)

Hi black.pearl,
yes penneddragon has got it right,.....underneath the forum Members name,..click on "member",...you are then able to see all posts made by any member,..plus the profile of that person,..if of course they give any information,..some are reluctant to do so however!
Runesage has a more advanced way than in the forum,...to Google a members name will enable you to see all internet posts,..be it on this forum or any other,..nothing can now be hidden from view in 2009

                          Paulga

black.pearl, you can click on the blue word underneath the poster's name to see a list of all his/her postings. At least this works sometimes.

Pearl - not sure what you want to search and WHO you meant by "search previous items that they have posted" They who??

The result you get from the onsite search function basically suck. Has as long as I've been a member. I gave up and started using Google to do my site searches since Google spiders this site very frequently.

The following shortcuts do a broad GAOTD search or a narrow GAOTD Forums search. All you have to do is fill in your key words, something the GAOTD search engine mangles badly. Give it a try -
GAOTD
GAOTD Forums

Yes, you can suggest a piece of software by going here and adding it to the 30-page list. (It's a thread that's posted near the top of the FORUM STICKIES... "Suggestions for Future Giveaways")
We're up to 889 suggestions; but, as far as I know, we haven't heard a peep from the boys behind the curtain as to whether they've followed up on any of 'em. Kinda frustrating. Maybe before you submit a suggestion, try the Google search link above to see if someone's already done so?

Am I blind, or is there a way to search previous items that they have posted? Is there a way to suggest an item?

Thanks!
