Thank you very much WhiteRabbit. That answers my questions completely. I think I will go ahead and download it and give it a try. If it gives me trouble I can always turn it off or uninstall I suppose. I know that was an option in the beginning as well ,but really wondered about its resource usage.

Thanks,
Gregg

Hi iwebb,

I always enjoy using these programs so downloaded and installed it (for now at least). It gives a fresh look to the desktop that I've not seen before. Clean lines and icons that can easily be changed.

I ran process explore before and after booting up Desktop 3D and there was a jump of only 50Mb in my RAM usage, and the cpu hardly changed from 5% to 7% when I turned it on. (cpu on this computer is only a dual core 2.2GHz, and I have 4Gb of RAM).

I've tried placing other animated desktops in with the three that come with the program, but none worked (from Dreamscape and Elefun). Also I noticed that when I tried to copy some files to one of my external drives it wouldn't let me until I came out of Desktop 3D. :)

regards

Hope I put this under the right topic...

Looking at this giveaway I was thinking about d/l it and thought it would be a nice change of pace to have. I didnt want to jam up the place that is meant for reviews so made this topic. Here is what I would like to know from any of you that have/are using it:

What kind of resource drain does it have on your system? Granted I have a newer laptop with Vista home Premium and offers 3gig of ram, but I really dont want to add a bunch (more) eye candy and loose the performance that I have gained in the process. Anyone information is greatly appreciated!
