:D, midori. Oh well, it sounds like your "poor" hubby could have found a lot worse things to drive him crazy.

Hey, I just had a weird daydream about my poodle talking crazy talk to me and it's hair had changed from white to blonde. ??? You'd better turn that dreamcatcher around! I think it's projecting!

The Old West wisecrackslinger sings as he rides his old paint off into the sunset, "...drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds...". (Sons of the Pioneers, if anyone's wondering.)

Lol, watcher... sometimes he calls me "poodlehead" because of my curly blonde hair. I think it more resembles a tumbleweed. In flight. :D But most often he just calls me "Wacky."

>BK... gee, I forgot I put that there. No, I don't make dreamcatchers, but I do have one hanging in my bedroom window, and if it's faced the wrong way, look out. But I used to weave a lot on a hand-made loom, and my weavings were like dreams, so I guess I was thinking of that. Also used to love to work with jute and beads and such... I should get back into all that neat stuff now that my daughter is in college, and become a hippie again. *&;-)

Lol, wrabbit... my childhood was far from idyllic. By "younger," I meant in my 20s and such! Ah, I miss that sailin' crowd. But I brought a good crew-member from one of the boats home with me for keeps... my hubby! :)

And Buckleysmom... "mom" is actually a very, very long word (and servant is in there!) so I think you have it all covered with those three letters. :)

I agree....it's nice to see this back on top.

A lot of times I try to guess at why someone picked a certain name and I'm usually WAYYYYYYY off. Like I thought for sure GMMan was either because you liked chevys or because you worked for General Motors.....but I see I'm wrong again.

Sometimes I think I should change my name to Buckleys servant instead of his mom....but that would be longer and it's already too long.

I like science, science fiction, comics and Chinese myths/culture (among MANY other things).

So the first part of my nickname is from science fact and fiction, the second one from Chinese myth.

The complete nickname looks like the name of a cosmic superhuman.

Quantum also refers to the fact that when I am really into something (research, reading, writing, creating and even just walking out in Mother nature's garden), I am not exactly where my physical body is.

Since I am in my third year of retirement, I can enjoy these voyages in the quantum folds.

That's pretty, Dawn... Shadawbi. Reminds me of a person with special powers in a tribe of sorts. "Take this matter to the Shadawbi, and all shall be well in two sunrises." :)

Mine was one of those that I had to pick real quick because the one I wanted was taken. (How dare they! lol!) I guess most people think of the drink, or cordial, and I'm not even sure what's in those, but it is a pretty word. I also like the word "mimosa," which is also a drink, but I know it as a beautiful pink lacy flower that blooms this time of the year around here. But wait... I didn't pick that, did I.

I spent a lot of my younger days on or around sailboats. When not racing, they pull a dinghy, or dory behind them to get ashore when anchored. It's like a little, rounded sturdy rowboat. When docked, that little dory was mine. I would take out "me dory" and explore all the nooks and crannies of the inlet. So I called it "midori," and that's what popped into my mind at that moment. "Sail on silver girl, sail on by. Your time has come to shine, all your dreams on on their way." (Paul Simon) *&:-)

nice topic... I'm always interested in reasons that make us choice a username because i think our username it's like a "business card"...
Tells other people in the forum who we are...

However...
Apetta88 [not aSpetta88 like SOMEONE write...:D] is my nickname also in life...
It can traslated in english as "little bee".
When my friends gave me this name they said: "in this nickname we condensed 2 important part of your character, a good and a bad one...

The good one:you're that kind of people who's always busy with something [Scouts, university, gym, charity work...]...You never stop, always working on something, especially if it's for the sake of people around you and you don't care if you take an advantage of it or not, like the bee makes his honey even if she know that someone else will take it away from her...

The bad one: bees are soooooo noisy, always buzzing and sometimes are quite annoying... you are so full of life,so happy,so extroverted... but you NEVER stop chatting!:D"

[hope I traslated well their explanation :D ]

I add: Bees don't sting normally, because when they sting they die, but when they sting they leave their sting in the enemy so the wound is most painful...
So am I: I never get angry with people, but when I do [usually because they hurt people I love] I can became SO evil...

Mine came from my 4 year old cousin and my grama about 20 years ago. For some reason she couldn't pronounce my name, Karen, and called me Kareeker. Grama shorted it to Reeker and my best friend found out and it kinda stuck. In fact, most people don't even know my real name! Lol. The 001 came from my not wanting to be Reeker82537746199452 on messangers. So I became Reeker001.

@RosnSC ... <perk!> South Carolina?! Where 'bouts? I used to live on Lady's Island, outside of Beaufort. Mercy, what a beautiful state. Throw in a cast net and retrieve 20 pounds of huge shrimp. Use them for bait for sting ray and those for shark. Could fish through several tidal changes at Paradise Pier....just moving from one side to the other. To this day, I can't look at shrimp without recalling those halcyon days.

@Paulga ... Kind sir, were you a member of Her Majesty's Fusiliers?!!
BTW ...Dad would be the famous one, as much for his music as his stage work; I was the .. ahem .. infamous one. Alas, we lost Dad to Alzheimer's a couple years back. How I miss his music!

@ModLox ... thank you for the warm welcome. It does feel like I've come 'home' again. I've been with this site since its inception and pleased to see it thriving still. Glad to see you in your new role, too!

@FullBug .. <slaps forehead .. DUH!> I worked with VH off and on for years... from warm-up band to headliner years... and I did not make the connection. Good name, that one!

My user name, RosnSC, is a sort of spin off of Rosulen which is my Yahoo, and other areas, ID. I use this ID on all forums I belong to. The Ros part is obvious, but the nSC part is for where I live - in S.C.
Rosulen - similar to Paulga's, it is comprised of syllables of my 3 names - the first syllable of the first 2 names, and the last syllable of my last name. My boys liked my idea so much that they did the same with theirs, except that one added some numbers on the end of his.

Mine comes from the name of a Van Halen song, 'The Full Bug' I also post on a Van Halen fan site so I came up with something VH related, I actually met a few members from there once and everyone just called me 'bug' so maybe I made the wrong choice, lol....
