Promo Display

The lower left corner of the navigation now has a promo display. Look to that space for update information, tips on how to use Evernote, and (eventually) promotions. Premium subscribers have the option of hiding the display if they wish.

File Hippo undoubtedly has the last "non-adware" version still on their servers. From what I gather (fortunately I was able to revert back to the last non-adware version), they are already serving adds through the promo display. There's quite an uproar about this in the comments to their blog posting, user forums, etc.

What is the proof it's now adware?

As of its latest release, Evernote is now adware.

It is free. They do a paid version but unless you need to store and move masses of files then the free version is just fine.
