Yeah, usually they drop the price a couple of times a year by a few dollars/pounds/euros, though it's surprisingly cheap as it is. It's currently £12.95/$26.95 and I think they drop it to £9.95/$19.95. Something like that anyway. But it's still a bargain when you consider Norton Antivirus is $39.95 and isn't as good.

Don't know about the product key on 2 computers, but I'd guess not. Give it a try, log in on the other computer and download the key and see what happens. Or you could use a different name and email address and get another key.

I got my email immediately. But if you don't get it, or don't feel like waiting, you can log in at https://license.avira.com/en/ with the email address and password you chose and download the key directly from them; look for the image of a key with green arrows on it under download. Then run the setup file and choose the key file option during setup.

Hey, thanks for this! It's a great program and I've been putting off upgrading because I'm broke :) As a follow up to Whiterabbit's post, I've followed the link in SimpleMinded's post to the first listed download of the English edition and the key works just fine. One thing of note, the system scan doesn't scan every file by default, just the most commonly infected. So if you think you have a virus and it comes back negative, just change the settings to scan every file by clicking 'Configuration' in the upper right-hand corner, next to Help, and under 'Scanner' change the radio button to 'Scan every file.' I have found viruses in archived files using that method. But it seems to spring to life at the mere hint of a virus. (It's just found one now in my System Volume Information folder.) It's really a great program! Even the free version is better than AVG, my previous antivirus.

I've installed the above program and am so far impressed.

Following the links above will give you the German version of the program, so if you don't want German menus etc, you'll need to find an English version; though I don't know whether the registration code you get will work with the English version? I've left mine with the German menus because I'm keen to re-learn the rudimentary German that I'd learned when I lived in Krefeld for a couple of years back in the 70's. Some of my extended family are Polish, but speak German as well (I couldn't begin to learn Polish at this late stage in life, lol), so it would be useful when I'm next visiting my bother in law.

I've converted the menu (from German to English) that pops up when a suspected virus is found just in case the reg key doesn't work with the English version (may be useful if you decide to keep the program):

There's one word which I've replaced with a ? below that I haven't translated yet but I thnk it means back up.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I've just decided not to continue with my F-Secure antivirus program and will try this one out while I decide who I'm going to go with. I've used F-Secure for several years, but have been reading that they are not as well regarded as they used to be. With the children starting to search the web I want to ensure I have good protection.

Oddly; at first I thought this was part of a program I already have called Anvir Security system (the big daddy of the Anvir program that was given away recently.

I received a download link for the program and a registry file which you'll need when you install the program. You have to click on the link at the bottom of the install window that opens up your browser. locate where you downloaded the registry file and then continue with the installation. The whole process is relatively easy, though i When you apply for the free 6 months registration it wont accept certain types of Email. I had to use a different one to my usual hotmail because it wouldn't accept it.
