Sorry if I sounded ungrateful, I'm just a lazy reader. Enjoyed it, haven't played a platformer for a while.

But, in retrospect, it does seem too big a download for what it is, especially if one is trying to keep to a fairly strict limit for such things.

Yes commodo I stated in the description that it is only 4 levels long and that it only took me 21 minutes to complete. Like I said, this is definitely not a game that you will replay alot. However, I thought it to be a truly interesting and unique game that deserves a little notoriety. How did you enjoy the game commodo?

Regards,

I've just had another go and I didn't realise earlier that there are only a few sections to get through, so it's a very short game. Thereafter it's just about bettering your best time, if you decide to have another go.

No commodo, there are no hidden areas, but there is quite a bit of strategy of when to switch polarities to get objects to do certain things. I agree with you both about using a controller, but if you have one I would suggest using it.

Ditto on what SpodoCommodo says. I too found it worked well with keyboard controls; though I can see why it's suggested you use an X-Box controller. Maybe it's the game that'll finally get me using the controller I bought last year to play Beijing Olympics. :)

Thanks Wizzard, I've just played it for a few minutes and it's good so far.

But I was wondering (since I'm not usually good at spotting hidden areas in games) - are the first few levels just to get used to the controls or are there extra things to be done within them?

btw anyone, I'm using the keyboard quite readily for control so it's not that important to have a joypad, and thus it's not essential to download the Xbox 360 driver.

Thenks Wizzard - This looks interesting. The web page was well done with inks to screensaver, an intro and a video.

Although nothing like todays game the following polarity game called plus and minus was posted in week 12:

Today’s game is called Polarity. Polarity is a great puzzle platforming game that involves magnetism. The two different polarities are represented as red and blue. Naturally, blue is attracted to red and repels against blue. The object of the game is to use the different polarities towards your advantage to overcome different obstacles in the game. The obstacles include electrocuted floors, electric balls, and impossible jumps.

This is an excellent little freeware game that is truly unique. I desperately hope the developers create a sequel that is much longer in comparison to Polarity. My run-through of the game took 21 minutes to complete, so this is definitely not a game that you can grind for hours on. However, due to the concept of the game, I felt that this game is a definite addition to my games library. The game consists of 4 levels with an extra final level in which you battle a boss. The game is fairly easy, but do expect to die several times while figuring out exactly what to do; particularly in the boss fight.

The developers website urges players to use a gamepad if they have one. I did find the game to be easier to control while using my 360 controller, but not impossible on the keyboard. Keys can be mapped to your liking. The sound is great and the graphics are just as good. I did find the 90mb download to be a bit much for only 5 levels and 20 minutes of gameplay, but well worth the download. I give Polarity a much deserved 10/10.

I ask that you not watch the trailer on the author’s site however, because it ruins the point of figuring out what to do. I realize that gameplay videos are nice when trying to decide if you should download, but for a 20 minute game like this, it ruins gameplay. The screenshots are rather nice, though, and should help you decide if it looks like the game is worth your wait.
