Consequently, it tends to be a free for all especially on public servers. The last time I went on a public server was for a game of Battlefield 2, playing on a map that I was very familiar with. After about 20 minutes and at least 10 or so deaths I'd not killed one player, and despite pumping a whole magazine into one guy who promptly hit me with one round and I was dead. I much prefer cooperative play where all the humans play against the games AI. It's much more fun and less manic.</p> <p>I helped out with a box server a few years ago where we ran several games such as America's Army and other FPS games, but it was by invitation only, so we were guaranteed not to get gamers who were only interested in points. I am so stuck in the old school mode where it was you and the computer or the occasional linked to your friend playing against that I am lost. Anywho, wanted to tell you that Wizzard listed in week 11 a free game called GORE. It has a training mission in it that is a pretty decent size. It is you against the computer so you get to learn what you are doing and get use to it before being thrown to the wolves. I havent tried it online/multi-player yet, as I am still trying to be able to beat the training. I give GORE a big thumbs up for that. Give it a try. I know that I have tried a few of them and found myself where you say you were at. However, Combat is the multiplayer aspect that was originally only included with the game. Not longer after the release of F.E.A.R., Monolith released Combat to the public. I never got into the multi-player mode either, but I hardly every do. Half-Life 2 has a great multi-player but be prepared to die a WHOLE bunch before you finally kill someone lol. It didnt say anything about demo when I was playing or setting up.</p> <p>As for the shooter games, I want to get into them but they make it so hard. I'll have to set up for a joystick cause trying to use a keyboard is just to ruff. I think you can only play multiplayer. I played it a while ago and I wasn't any good (actually shot a couple of my own teammates) because I had no idea what I was doing. I got booted off a couple of servers, but it never interested me. The only reason I downloaded it was for my brother, but he never played it.
