Which reminds me, I still have the unopened box of the original Half Life in my "Game Closet" from years ago. Gee, wonder if it'll play on this computer.

Hey, Codename Gordon it's an excellent platform game. The graphics are good and the game play is looking good as well. I''ve only played it for a few moments as I'm shattered after a long journey to Catterick Garrison to see my son passing off. He joind an infantry regiment earlier this year. :) This is supposed to be freeware, the developer has disappeared and the only places you can get it, you either have to pay a subscription to download the free games or fill out a load of online forms or write a full game review before you can download the file.

I suspect the owner of the site gets paid for hansomly for the surveys that we complete. you have to make around 50 mouse clicks either agreeing or not to 50 different things such as would you want free downloadable music, or do you want such and such. From what I remember of such payment adverts, you get a couple of cents for each click which would give the guy a minimum of $1 for my efforts. That doesn't sound much, but if lots of people did it, it would soon mount up.

Does the community think its worth me uploading it to my filefront account? If I get enought yeah's I'll do it. The zip file is 32.8Mb, so it shouldn't take me too long to upload. ;)

There's a couple of places you can download it from, but one charges a monthly fee and the other one you have to do one of three things, write a game review, but it's got to be one out of about 20 they list. With that you can download up to 25 files. or fill out an online form and click yes or no to about 50 different products. The third one I've already forgotten, but it was the least attractive. I had a red WOT pop up when I first went to the page, but once finishing I managed to get the game for free. Anyway, here's the download page. You could try the second link to see if it works, but I suspect it wont:

Today's free game is Halo Zero. This is a title that I'm sure a lot of people have heard about, but for those that haven't it is a gem. Halo Zero puts the player back in the shoes of Master Chief but in a 2D side scrolling adventure. The game is reminiscent of Halo, but doesn't quite feel like it.

The controls are easily mapped so playing today's game will be easy for all. Sound is right on par with games of this genre; however, I wish they implemented voice. The game puts an interested take on the sniper rifle, once clicked, the screen pans to the right so you can see ahead of your position to "snipe." Don't bother aiming for headshots with any of the guns, as they tend to miss. A body shot will kill just as easily as a head shot would. The weapon power was a little disappointing for me.

Overall, I would recommend this game to at least be tried out. At 20.7mb, it's a low risk download. I give the game an 8.5/10.

On a side note, does anyone know where I can get a copy of Codename: Gordon? This game was the Half-Life version of Halo Zero. It was distributed as freeware, but since the developer went under, I can't find it anywhere.
