Bcklysmum - Sorry, I don't even clean my own home. However, I do write for a living. While it may seem a waste of time, dashing off roughly 550 words actually takes less than 10 mintues. Waiting for malware scans to conclude and free up system resources offers brief opportunities to squeeze out a brain toot. Stringing/streaming words together exercises my brain and fingers, akin to a musician or athelete warming up. All work and no wordplay makes Rune a grumpy boy. The typos were intentional, a spoof of the original email's poor command of English. OTOH, punctuation errors were likely accidental as I've long since accepted that senility and grammar/style conventions don't mix.

Rune......I had to stop reading due to, "Nobody else is authorized to read further!", but I just have to say.......you've got waaaaaayyyyyyyy to much time on your hands. So if you should need something to keep yourself busy I have lots of housework you could do for me. After all, I'm way to tied up reading things that are just for Maizey, playing free games that drive me up the wall, reading and answering silly emails and posting in goofy forums to get anything done around here. My broom and mop await your arrival, hope you can squeeze them into your schedule. Thanks

Ah! Still more well wishes, gifts and cakes from my wonderful friends. Thank you all for being so kind. :)

WR - My first semester is almost over - final exams are next week. Whew! The new semester won't begin until the middle of Jan 2009. I hope to catch up with everyone while on break.

BK - "Birhday"??? LOL Didn't think that I'd notice. Did you? :D Thanks for starting this, lady! You are one of a kind. I liked the cake story too. Tell your Dad "Happy Birthday!" from a fellow Sagittarius.

Somethinglox - I spied all your other posts in several other threads too. Sweet. Love that cake above. The mouse-over comments are fun. :)

Robert - You went all out! That's a lot of cake (huge!) and some great entertainment, as well. Everything is yummy. :)

Rune - The posies are lovely (and purple), and the cakes look delicious (and purple). I like flowers and cake (in purple)! LOL! Thank you in advance. Oh, and your near disaster episode is hilarious. Please tell more stories like this. I could use a few more laughs. :D

PS: I had one of those "calorie-free" cakes once. My ex baked her very first cake for my birthday. A triple decker, looked a bit unlevel but I sure wasn't going to say a word. Candles were lit, we stood there silently enjoying the tiny flickering firestorm, I started to make a wish, when suddenly...
jagged cracks began to form in the icing, then the cake split into about 5 pieces, each sliding away from each other while we attempted to prevent a fire. This, of course, she could have done by herself as she burst into tears. I think her mom eventually 'splained what caused the disaster; but she stuck to baking safe, one-layer brownies from then on.
Ah, good times, good times.

Hoss......funny you should say that......my sister-in-law brought a cake in one of those glass cake safes with a pedestal base. She had it on the floor between her feet and my brother had to brake a bit hard at one point so it tipped over. She blamed him for braking too hard but all I could think was just how dumb do you have to be to carry around one of those glass, pedestal things? You'd think she never heard of Tupperware ......duh! So anyway, like you said, those calories were GONE!!! I even checked to see if they were stuck to the lid along with all the icing but nope, they were completely gone......as was the cake once we vultures got at it.

Hey Maizey....just got the word that your birthday was back on the 3rd and I wanted to wish you belated greetings. I know going back to school has kept you busy and you haven't gotten here to the forums much lately but hopefully you'll see this today.

As it turns out my dad's 80th birthday is tomorrow and we're having a party for him today. I know you've got a way to go before you hit that age but I'd be more than happy to eat an extra piece of cake for you anyway. Would you prefer carrot, vanilla or chocolate? What's that? You'd like to try each one.....hey NO PROBLEM! ;)

Hope all you guys out there will join me in some belated wishes for Maizey. Tell me what flavor cake you'd like and and I'll eat a piece for you too. YUM YUM! (I know I'll pay tomorrow......but it'll be worth every last crumb. Besides.....I'll make sure I drink diet soda with each slice. :)))) Not that it matters anyway because everyone knows that cake that's eaten before or after the actual day has no calories.
