Thanks, Buzz! I, too, just downloaded it! It reminds me very much of Norton SystemWorks 2003, which I used to run on my Windows 98SE computer, before I bought my current XP system. SW was a similar all-inclusive utilities package, and included a One Button Checkup option similar to TuneUp Utilities' 1-Click Maintenance. Many thanks!

Glad ya all liked it. I feel better now that other get it for free. lol
It has some better features (imo) than the WinUtilities given away here.

Lee: The 2007 version had all I needed for my system, but didn't know they dropped the mem tool in later versions.

Thanks so much for this link! I've just finished using it to clean up my system and actually gained another 4 gig of disk space!! This is an awesome program, and I'm glad I waited, as I was tempted to try one of the others that's been available. This program did exactly what I wanted, was so simple to use, and allowed me to make choices each step of the way. For a non-tech person, that was crucial, as I didn't want to just aimslessly click away without knowing what I was doing. I am so pleased! If others don't have a program of this type for their system, I highly recommend this one. Laura

Thank you for the excellent find. I have never used Tuneup Utilities before although I heard it is really good. I am using Norton 360 and one time I used the registry cleaner on it and it messed my computer up. I could no longer add icons to the desktop nor could programs I installed either and I am figuring Norton messed it up because when I restored the computer to a restore point before Norton made the registry changes it fixed it, but I had to install Norton over then because when I restored the computer back to the previous settings Norton was gone, it would no longer come up, talk about fighting fire with fire, lol.

Thank you for the great find and I feel bad that you already purchased it two months ago and now vnu is giving it away free, thank you for posting this and letting people know.

I've been using tune-up for ages and it has managed to save my system many times. It is a wonderful cleaner, fixer, tweaker, and a lot of other things too.

super piece of software. ;-)

You paid $40 for v2007?

I have 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

In some respects you're right, 2007 is the better of the four.

The memory tool was great in 2007, does not exist in 2008 or 2009.

Personally, I like this one better than the recent one like this given
away here recently. Got really mad when I saw this, as I paid $40 for it
2 months ago! Oh Well.

http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/downloads/2231665/tuneup-utilities-2007

ps- they're giving it away to get new 2009 users, but it's still great.
