I'll certainly give it a look see, though I'm totally grabbed by the last few games I've bought (Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 and Warhead and Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway), all of which are amazing games, though you need a reasonably fast machine with a decent graphics card (at least 256Mb of video memory) to run any of the games. I've also been playing Oblivion a lot, which is my substitute for going for real walks over the mountains and wild open spaces, lol. Anyone who has played Oblivion will know what I mean. :)

Oblivion

http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n61/Whiterabbit_01/Forums%20images/oblivion/?action=view&current=7c362540.pbw

Hells Highway

http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n61/Whiterabbit_01/Forums%20images/Hells%20Highway/?albumview=slideshow

Fallout 3 is a post apocalyptic vision of the future, and has a similar feel to Oblivion with respect to being able to wander around at will. both are RPG games of the highest order. Wheras the other two games are Fisrt Person Shooters.

I'll download and try it out though. I don't mean to hijack the thread by posting stuff for other games. I'm just really enthralled by the above games so will probably take me several weeks to get around to playing The Far Wilds.

Regards

Stephen

It did seem that a fair amount of work went into it. Too bad I'm 30 years removed from the complex D&D prose adventure game genre. I'm finding shuffleboard and tiddlywinks more my speed these days.

Here's hoping Wabbit has time to take a peek and maybe churn out one of his War&Peace reviews. :-)

Very nice looking, RM, you can tell a lot of work has gone into it.

I happen to be distantly connected to the developer (akin to being 6-degrees from Kevin Bacon) so am fairly confident The Far Wilds won't melt your PC; but as it's in BETA, it might make funny farty noises or simply freeze in mid-sword slash.

The linked page offers a downloadable PC version or you can just play an online Flash version. Here's a decent video tut.

Hopefully, Wabbit or another gamer will offer the developer helpful feedback.
