Hi, shaynefruma sorry to hear about your loss. You need the program and have lost the registration - I don't use it and it is still proper registered.
Life can be so cruel... ;)

I think FrankW is right with his advice, to send a mail to the developer can't be wrong.

If I well remember EDraw was activated using a unique hardware-based computer ID.
For sure, I don't know how this ID is generated.
I don't know either when exactly this ID is used by EDraw to verify the licence.

Maybe this ID is only used once when the software is activated and then it remembers it is properly activated, and doesn't check the ID anymore...
I didn't kept this soft so I can't try but I guess it doesn't work like this.

I think each time it's launched, it tests whether the activation code matches your unique computer ID.

Now, just imagine you changed something in your computer. Let's say you upgraded your video card for example.
Imagine also that EDraw uses the video card serial number (among others datas) to generate the computer ID.
When changing the card, you also changed the serial and therefore your computer ID.
From then on, the new computer ID can't match with the (old) activation number.
EDraw tests fail and it says it's unregistered.

I guess actual customers of EDraw can ask the company for a new activation number.
GOTD users? I don't know.
Send them a mail, maybe they may help...

I've also reverted to a trial version and I am certain that I had successfully registered. I really liked this software, and that's frustrating. If you check the original download page, others also had this problem somewhere down the line. I wonder if the Edraw people could help us out or we just have to hope that it's offered again. This was so flexible that I would consider paying for it, however.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to search the forum before posting, but kept the search to EDraw, and nothing came up. I will do a search more broadly and read up. I have downloaded quite frequently from GAOTD and never had this happen this before. It is strange, and I know I cannot try to register it again, just wait and maybe they'll have it again one day. As for the cleaning software, could be, I don't know. You're right though, I've never had that happen with a paid software!! :) Anyhoo, I really appreciate your time in answering 'cuz now I don't feel like I actually did something to it, that sometimes these things happen and that's life. :)

Ruger
The E-Draw we downloaded is a full version and mine is still fully functional. Unfortunately, loosing the software registration of a giveaway software is an all too common phenomenon and the exact reason is still not known. If you check this forum you will find lots of similar threads.
If you tried to update any giveaway it may become unregistered. I have lost giveaways even when no update was done It has been suggested that the reason why the giveaways become unregistered is because some "cleaning tool" messed up with the registration entries. In my two computers I have played with some 8 cleaner tools and I have lost some giveaway softwares. Oddly enough I have never lost any of my paid softwares due to anything.
Since one cannot re-install the giveaway software on any other day, once a giveaway is gone from your computer, mostly, it is gone for good.

Well, I hope this is in the right place first off, and hello! I downloaded, activiated, and it looked like it registered. I used it for a while. Now, yesterday, it gives me the msg that the trial period is up. The registration info is still in the key along with the 'giveaway' name. Was that only for a trial period? Did I miss something? I received no error message when activiting it, and like I said, the key is still in the registration box from the original activiation. I'm stumped, obviously. Thanks for listening/reading, much appreciated. :)
