Hi RunesageMagi, I didn't see the post you made. I'm increasingly becoming so focused on the games project (which I'm beginning to regret) that I miss most other posts. I tend to clck straight into the games discussion forums, so miss most other things. However I actually already had the link you gave me via Wirechanger. When it was given away late spring 2007, I was so impressed with it that I bought it. I found that it linked to a lot of different sites including the Hubble site. I downloaded loads of images, which were added to the wirechanger data base. thanks for thinking of me though.

I remember getting into mind mapping when the idea was first mooted by Tony Buzan and his brother. I'd followed their careers with interest following the purchase of one of Tony's first books called speed reading. I was always one for self improvment and bought several ' teach yourself course's' during my youth and early 20's, thinking it would help me get on in life; e.g. Speed memory, memory and concentration and improve your written english; all of which cost me quite a lot of money. Though experience was the best teacher. :)

thanks for this. I have used mindvisualizer in the past. I tested this one briefly, it is certainly more extensive. I look forward to playing with it!

Wabbit, never apologize for forgetfulness. It, as well as blatant failure to pay attention (as evidenced by my erroneous post on this thread that Bubby correctly torched) has been occurring with greater and greater frequency. I'm constantly "noticing" programs I didn't know I had. (do pixies install things whilst I sleep??)

Today I was about to do things the old fashioned way (laboriously extract parts of an Excel spreadsheet to Word so I could email something to my CPA) when I just happened to notice that those pixies musta installed TWO of at least seven(!) PDF converters/makers I'd absentmindedly downloaded over the past year and promptly forgot about. They were linked up to the printer function. PrimoPDF works like a charm. doh

FWIW, I have 4 mindmap appls, incl. ConceptDrawPro (obtained from this thread back in OCT), plus links to several online mappers. Even downloaded something called DecisionOven, but it takes thrice the time to figure out how to use that one than it does to just make a decision. I'm an addict when it comes to free software, obviously suffering from blackout periods.

BTW, did you catch my post to you in the Astronomy thread a while back?

That program is excellent! THX

And here you can find the latest version 5.5 Pro link: http://download.conceptdraw.com/full/mindmap/win/CDMindMapProEn.zip

And even the Mac version: http://download.conceptdraw.com/full/mindmap/mac/CDMindMapProEn.dmg

Key works perfectly... ;)

lol.

The only reason I noticed was that I'd initially opened the thread, then closed it down while I wrote my own contribution, then when I went to open up the thread again it had disappeared from the front page. I had to use the search engine to find it, lol.

I just presumed RSM had deleted it because I do (remarkably) remember it not fitting in with the theme.

Regards

OK. I confess seeing the duplicate and being unable to see any relation to the rest of this thread - I nuked this one. The other twin post still lives... somewhere... in a happier place. :)

Wabbit, I only noticed my boo boo after the 59-minute editing window had expired. So, I reposted the run-on sentence on a slightly more appropriate board, and will assume some eagle-eyed moderator with an electric eraser rubbed the one on this thread out. Then again, maybe the mods have to hold an etch-a-sketch over their head and shake it violently?

This offer is still up and running after two months.

I knew my head was all mixed up after a 50mph impact with the ground that sent shock waves up into my brain, but I cannot believe that last night I actually repeated an application for a registration code and got one, only to find another one in my free applications backup folder on my external. I'm getting worse. I really had forgotten that I'd already got this offer. I must be blind to as i only bothered to look at the first post, and didn't notice my own post from two months ago. I really am going to have to try and get off this junk I take for the pain as it's turning me into a jibbering fool.

Last week I bought a game called Star Drone via Direct to Drive, through my Fileplanet account, which cost me $19.99. The game was worth it (to me), but then I discovered I'd already got the game for free from Gametop.

Ah well, at least I won't have my browser opening when I close the game down; (though that's a high price to pay, lol)

If anyone’s interested, Star Drone is a cross between a space shooter and pinball. It's got psychedelic graphics and reminds me a little of Bullet Candy (that was given away over on the game giveaway project early in 2007).

You can see a video of the game here:

http://www.direct2drive.com/481/6116/product/Buy-Stardrone-Download

Suki, this isn't the game I promised I would be posting a while back; that’s still to be posted. Though I have posted at least a couple of other psychedelic offerings since Plasma Pong. They are called Harmotion (in the New Years Bonanza posting), and yesterday I posted a game called Synaesthete, which has very colorful graphics. Still, there’s yet more hippified offerings to come, lol. :)

Just a note:

Once you’ve got your registration code and activated Mindmap, you can register the program over at Concept Draw.. Just go to the help on the toolbar and select product registration from the drop down menu. That opens up a form which you need to fill in with specific personal details. Whether this gives you product support I’m not sure as I’ve not bothered to check any further.

Thank you for the find SusanIAm. I had this from a giveaway, but lost the activation after a format, so it's great to be able to get a full version for free.

SusanIAm, thanks for the heads up on another MindMap prog and for charting the course to registration. FWIW, it installed w/out a hitch. Will be interesting to run comparisons with the ones already in use - Freemind and EDraw.
Try as I might to regularly make the rounds of all the freeware sites, for some reason I tend to overlook LifeHacker even though it sits in the same shortcut folder as the others.
Pending freeware installs count = 1813 and rising
