Hey, the sale has been extended until the 25th, so if you haven't got World of Goo, you still have a chance!

In case you want to give WoG as a gift, but can't find the gift customization link, just add

&op=gift

to the end of your download link.

They're still trying to recover from the second wave of donations, so their website isn't fully up (as of now, the forums give you a 404).

Note the WoG Corp. Online system isn't working, as they're updating their leaderboard system.

Can someone be kind enough to donate $0.01 to me? I've already tried it and loved it, but the full version isn't available anywhere nearby and my dad doesn't trust online banking. I'd be grateful, and since 1 penny mightn't make much difference to you, could you please send it to me at ***e-mail removed***
Or perhaps download link to the same if that's possible?
Thanks.

World of Goo was a featured item on the latest MacHeist--a game scenario that highlights indie developers for the Mac platform. It works much like Giveaway of the Day, in that regard. Participants come together during 'mission briefings' to gather clues and solve mysteries. Software is given away throughout the game. Bundled software is available for purchase (abt. $50 for $500 worth of utilities and games) at the end of the game and the money is donated to charity.

If World of Goo has been converted to PC, then there's hope Heist giveaways like Times, Boinx TV, Picturesque, Kinemac, ShoveBox, DevonThink, Wire Tap, Layers, Cro-Mag Rally and Fresh will make it to the PC market as well. I hope the GAOTD team is talking to those developers ...how about it, Moderators? Perhaps you could even work out a mystery-solving scenario for software giveaways?

@thenameipicked: Eventually, after 20 mins, I managed to get on to their "thanks" page. It doesn't actually contain a download link, but a "please wait for that email" message. I guess PayPal is really slow in delivering orders, so about 5 hours later I received my download link (unfortunately, it was right after I turned off my computer, so I didn't find out until morning).

I feel compelled to giving them some more money. I played the demo while waiting for my download link and found that this game is quite cool. More importantly, it works great on my dumb Intel graphics chip.

Oh well, I guess I'll pay them when I have more cash. In the mean time, I'll pick up a few more copies and send them to friends.

GMMan, if you refresh it until their server (which is really busy) accepts your page request, you will get the download link.
I actually thought that this was very smart of them...I was never consdering buying for them, even when it went on Direct2Drive's sale...but then when this happened... I was going to pay minimal...but then I felt bad, so I paid $5...not only because I felt bad, but also because it was going straight to the developer...not a 3rd party :P

I'm surprised that they are almost givingit away, but then again, with all the game deals around these days maybe not. :)

Well any time to get a free game (in this case a $0.01 game). I'll probably try it out. Unfortunately for some reason, I can't get to the after-sale page. I guess they hate me for paying 0.05% of what the game's worth :(

thank you, stephen...

i went and looked at the fan site...i've never added fan made levels to a game, but will probably try the goofans levels...

the profanity pack apparently still hasn't been released...there is a thread in the Goo forums asking for suggestions, & the developers are going to pick a few (i think it was five) profane suggestions for the pack...those chosen receive a signed copy of Goo............it's 1:40 am here now...if i go wake mom up, i may have something to submit...lol...

thank you for posting about Goo...your enthusiasm for the game was contagious...

thanks also for the Community Game link to one of the developers other games...haven't tried it yet, but downloaded all of his... :/

my massive 4 meter tower fell over...lol...and the leaderboard is over 500,000 meters now... : (

Hi Violet, no I've not yet. I've been buying so many games recently I can hardly keep up. Though I did download the custom made levels that are free. There's also an editor of sorts (I've not checked out how easy it is to use yet) available. I think I may have posted a link somewhere, but if not you can find everything over at 2D-Boys site.

Actually the link is on 2D-Boys front page, so here it is (though I bet you already have it):

http://goofans.com/

It's a beautiful game that all the g=family have got into. With respect to the moving drum; you have to build a wide base and then when it's tuned over quickly build a tower. It's hard to explainn in words, but basically you need a wide bas e that enables you enought time to build up to the tap. I only took two attempts at it.

I think it's one of the most innovative games to have been released last year.

I've just bought Crayon Physics deluxe, which I'm just about to post a link to in the post I made about it the other day:

http://www.crayonphysics.com/

I think it's going to be as enjoyable as Goo. It comes with 70 levels and a levels editor, so you can make an unlimited number of your own levels. I reckon they will be allowing the community to upload custom made levels, which means there will be lots of free levels available. :)

hello, stephen...

i had to unearth this post to thank you...or curse you...not sure which yet...lol...

"World Of Goo" became the Christmas item for me...after checking out your posts, seeing the Tim Burton-ish look, and the "Goo" site...i HAD to have it............Thanks, Mom!...i know...sad from a 42 year old... :/

anyway...now i have "Goo" for PC...and we are buying some "Wii Points" cards for two other households to go "Goo" themselves...@20 bucks a pop...the "Wii Points" cards will leave the others some extra points...@$60, total...which looks pretty reasonable, considering the price of games...

the cursing part: stuck right towards the beginning...those spinning wheels seen in your screenshots...aarrgghh!............at least it isn't embarrassing, like getting killed by beetles in "I Love Puppies"...rofl...

more cursing: addicted to "Goo" at the moment...tower only about 3 1/2 meters by the Corporation...and the leaderboard says the highest tower is about 490,000 meters high...aarrgghh!...

questions for you, if you are still Gooing and have the time: did you order the "Profanity Pack"?...with all my cursing, the Gooballs might as well be, too...i don't see a place to order it, just that it was available for preorder...any clue about ordering that?...

thanks again, stephen...

For those gamers who are always on the look out for unusual, original and different games that have the makings of a classic puzzle game (anyone bought Gish, or Gumboy Crazy Adventures – well, IMHO, World of Goo is comparable to those games), then you must check this game out. I originally posted about it following a post about the 'Tower of Goo' which is a Freeware taster for this release. I've been Beta testing it since around February.

The first link below takes you to the home page and the second link to a download of ‘Tower of Goo; which demonstrates the oddity of this game. The actual game (which was released today) is a gazillion times better than the freeware taster though, so check out a demo of the game if there’s one available. There’s a video of the game play on the same page as the download link. (please note this is a commercial game and not one of the many free games I post on these forums)

This is a 9 out of 10 game for me (I’ve never scored 10)
