Hi Judyduck,
You have to download and install the day it is given away. That is the only day Giveaway of the Day has the license. Once the 24 hours are up, a new program is offered.
If you lose the program to a hard drive crash, accidental deleting, etc. You will have to look for another option or wait to see if GAOTD offerers it again.

I am new but I was wondering why it is necessary to install the giveaway software on the same ay it is offered. I like and would use many of the programs offered but I would like to save them and install them when I use the program the first time. As I have read and this may be wrong but you must install the program the same day that it is offered. If this is an incorrect statement could someone please post a response.
