What happened to it? My oldest son's computer came with it - back in 1999 - and it did fine until the subscription expired, and we couldn't get the updates anymore. Some kind of virus got a hold of it, and we wound up losing the computer. Now mind you, this was before I learned about computers, and could repair ours. If I had known back then what I know now, we probably would have had it longer, if not still. 'Course the computer he had was a basic non-upgradeable Gateway. I'm not cracking on Gateway computers, but just letting you all know the particular type of Gateway computer he had. I think Gateways are pretty good, considering we still have, and use, the one my husband bought back in February, 2000. I am currently running McAfee on that one. That is the worst. It totally ruined my last pc. It was horrible. I actually had attempted to upgrade it and it went beserk and I was not able to uninstall it no matter what I did. Had several techies try and help me also and nothing worked. The only good thing was that it was an old pc and I was going to get a new one, Norton just hastened the process. I never went through the installation of Norton on the new pc, just got rid of it totally. I do use Zone Alarm and have not had any problems. Norton has a terrible reputation of grabbing resources and NOT letting go!
