I was able to bypass the garbage of the C:\My Games. I emailed them and they said the update gave me a choice and since I have updated, I'm stuck. I was NOT given a choice. I asked if an uninstall/reinstall would work and they said no.

I found a way around it but it's not for the faint-at-heart -- I changed the registry value! I just searched for "My Games" and where I found it was exactly what I wanted. I changed it to the folder I wanted, re-installed Super Collapse and it worked exactly as I wanted it to work.

The game now works without loading RealArcade and works from the folder I wanted! I did have to create a shortcut!

Well I've had no problems with realarcade. I did buy a few games off them last year and I do try their game trial every so often which I do end up canceling usually because of money problems and I still am allowed to keep the free game. One time I had some problems with one of their games on my old computer, I already purchased it with my credit for realarcade gamepass and they gave me another credit. So I got two games off realarcade that month. I told them they could take the game I got off my account (the one I was having problems with) and they never did.

I do get e-mails from them, but I don't really mind the e-mails as they tell you about new games and stuff and I don't only get e-mails from them about new games, but a couple of game companies. I do always deal with realarcade if I want to purchase a casual game which I just don't have the money to do right now.

I did try to back up my games one time to cd (full version games) and I had trouble doing that and they ended up a trial when I installed, but games I got for free and games that I purchased are still in my account and the first free game I got off realarcade was years ago and it's still there.

The only way I will download this, is if, once bugmenot site is done with maintenance, bugmenot happens to have a working login for realarcade site.

Bugmenot is great for avoiding having to register and expose yourself to more junk mail, it is free (and also has a firefox plugin)

I get tired of sites that offer things like the game mentioned here, but demand you give them your email address and information and register for their site to be able to download the advertised game.

All I don't need is registration for a site that I'm highly unlikely to ever be interested in actively participating at, just so they can send even more spam, advertising, and other crap to fill my email box with. (And sell email addresses to other companies, email addresses that are valid are in much demand by email marketers, and who can prove which site sold addresses to marketers? Many sites claim they don't sell addresses, but how can that be proven or disproven?)

So the game really isn't free, it comes with the price of having to give out your information for registering at their site, and the price of even more advertising and spam to annoy you,

Dragonlair: Yes, RA changed their downloader, and it has gone through some morphing, good and bad, since May 2007. There are a lot of members who have canceled due to problems ( I did), but some have no problems. The old RA "Player" can not download games anymore, they must be done from the new RA site. If you did upgrade to one the last 2 most recent downloaders though, you would have been asked ONE TIME where you want the games installed. (That was my biggest complaint last year because C is NOT a game drive! They changed it with a release this year.) As far as "moving" game files, I never attempted to do that since the installations make entries in the Windows Registry, so moving files would render them unplayable.

Haalam - hour link didn't work for me.

They have upgraded the "RealArcade" player and the way they do things. I used to be able to "work around" having to have Real loaded when I played their games. I also could move the games to where I want them since they give NO choice in the matter. I can no longer do that. If I move the game, it no longer works. I can copy it and run from the copy "supposedly" but it seems that just my executable is run from elsewhere and the game still has to be in C:\My Games\. I like to keep as few folders as necessary at the root level. I don't like their way of doing things.

If this is the way they are doing things now - I won't be getting any more Real games - free or otherwise!

THIS IS NOT NICE!

There are a lot of other games at Real Arcade that are "free for life" (I assume they contain advertising though). Sorry if not a link here, but this is the site address:

I think it's one of the best versions of super collapse. I got it for free just a little bit ago and I thought I post it so others can get it for free if you don't already have it.
