Hi Dawn,

That must have been a harrowing experience. I'm pleased to have been of assistance and hope you find your stay here as pleasant as I do. I hope your husband makes a full recovery sooner than later. :)

Warm regards

Well, Whiterabbit, I'm another one who has read but never posted. Actually, I've been coming to the main pages for over a year, but just started reading the forums a few months ago. I always look to see what your thoughts are about a program before downloading & your screenshots & reviews have helped me a lot over the years.

I know alot about meds & their side effects. My husband was in a place that got robbed last summer...wrong place at the wrong time...and he ended up getting shot in the head. In the last 10 months I've learned more than I ever wanted to know about brain injuries, therapies, medications, & side effects! Thankfully he's doing great & slowly gaining all he had lost. Being home as his caretaker has given me a lot more computer time than I had before & the games you've posted have been a welcome diversion when DH is asleep or watching wrestling on TV..lol...not my favorite program!

Look at how many people you've brought out of hiding...that in itself says a lot!

Dawn

Hey G@rgoyle, don't put yourself down so. What you've done and continue to do is as important as the games we find. If it wasn't for you're hard work and the fantastic interactive list you've created, the games we've posted over the last year and a bit would be harder to find. In fact many would be buried within the mire of an ever growing forum. You've made 'all' of the games that have been posted very accessible.

Thank you for your coninued help; it's very much appreciated.

Regards

Hi Wabbit!

meds causing depressions... I know all about that. the fight to overcome that depression is not easy. I have meds that make me depressed too, but I can't stop taking them, so... I try my best to not hate everyone. (wink) I find that dark humor, cinicism(?) and all kinds of humor, are actually a help with the depression. although laughter does not come easy either.

anyway... I love your game links, but have lost track a bit of where to find what...

I LOVE the "find it" games, like hidden expedition, everest and so on.
I can rarely find them though. it seems "the net" is bent on getting me lost in every search I do... :-(

a maze, a labyrinth, a hidden expedition in itself for people like me... !!!

so, your posts are VERY VERY VERY much appreciated. When I can find them. *snorts with laughter *

if you can, would you send me a mail with some good links so I won't get lost? I'll put my open mailbox on here. (It's one I regularly change when the spam becomes too much. but some last for years anyway :-))))

***please read the forum rules***

Thanks Wily and Chronopie, by the way Wily, vilulf's comment was supposed to be sarcastic. He's not a great fan of my posts as evidenced by his recent comments in the games comments section. Assuming it is the vilulf that joined the community recently and not the long established and courteous vilulf that has been posting for a couple of years.

No matter how hard one tries to please everyone, it’s unfortunate that it’s impossible to do so and that some ‘community’ members still feel they have to be sarcastic and ignorant. Thankfully I know the type and try to ignore them; though sometimes can’t help myself and reply to their witterings.

p.s.

I don't actually play UT3 much. My 10 year old son can pawn me in seconds (yeah I realize it's supposed to be for older kids; he plays it with the sound off because of the swearing, which detracts from the game but he doesn't mind not having sound on. Whenever he sees me playing a game that he thinks will contain swearing he'll turn the sound off when he comes into the study) . He calls me a doddering old fool when we play online together. I let him watch me play the L4D deal yesterday and all he could say was I can play it better than you dad. :) I play many games, every day, but I’m not an expert at any. When I take a shot, it's a slow and methodical procedure. By the time I'm set I'm usually picked off by a bot. The last time I played Battlefield 2 online (the only time I played it in conquest mode by the way). I must have been shot about 20 times and never hit one person, lol. I played America's Army better, but that was with friends, plus you could play it a lot more stealthily. Run and gun games I'm not too good at because I'm too slow. But I still really enjoy playing Unreal tournament. It's just so much fun.

@ Stephen and other contributeurs

Like vilulf, i am hit in the face to of emotions.
7 months after this topic started your still arround, while i come here only ones in a while (no need for everyday a new game, or my lady would take over my PC)

But during the times i visit i am always happy to see your comments and advices. Open, clear and with the warnings how to install or internet highjacks of installations. Without these advices i would probebly only play mine sweeper and wouldnot dare to download many of these games.
And i am thankfull that there are people like you Stephen, who offer to give a helping hand if needed.

You helped me out a few times. I wished i could help you some how.
At least i wish you good strenght to resist the (bad) effects of your accident.

Looks like you have quite a fan club, Stephen... and well-deserved it is. I haven't been able to post here for ages because of non-response to repeated requests for a password, but finally used a different email addy and tada. But of course all my preferred user names are null and void now. (also started posting here as midori, till I found a "moo" one that went thru) But like a kid each day, I've looked here to see what you've posted (since they stopped the weekly), and before that always to read your great reviews. And now with the Wizz as part of your team, it's double the pleasure! You guys are grandiose! A Big Thanks.

Hello all! I know I have been MIA for months, but I have been busy with life, writing my blog and waiting until I got a new PC to try and get any new games. The old one was only a 256ram and the hard drive was pretty much full. Well I just got a new PC a couple of weeks ago and am looking to find some new games and hopefully eventually replace many of the games that I was not able to transfer to the new one. I now have Vista Home Premium sp1, 3g ram and LOTS of space on the hard drive!!

Stephen, since I first found this site in June 2007, yours has always been the first post that I read for any given game. Because I am legally blind, there are only so many games types that I can play - mostly the much maligned match three! I can almost always tell by your in depth reviews and your screenshots if this is a game that is suitable for my abilities/vision and worth the doenload! I would be lost without your input and would not have found games like Rise Of Atlantis (I was on my 8th journey!), Around THe World in 80 days, Buku Dominos, Buku Sudoku and Ingenious, Mahjong Artifacts (with tiles I could actually see the differences in!) - all of which are still on the old PC! :( I was also unable to transfer an old copy of Jewel Match which is one of my very fave's - have played all 150 levels at least 7 or 8 times!

I was able to transfer Jewel Quest 1 & 2, Bejeweled 2 and Chuzzle (a fave!) but that is about it.

So, my dear white rabbit, I am relying on you to help guide me to new games with your brilliant comments, reviews, screenshots and links. I have started reading some of the threads here for frre games during the week. You and other members here have done an amazing job of finding new addictions for all of us! Perhaps I have missed it, but is there any type of thread or section that deals more with match 3 games? If not, would you consider starting one? Right now, I feel like I am looking for needles in a haystack!

Thank you Stephen, for all you do here! Thank you mem for starting this thread and to all the others who have expressed their appreciation so elloquently! If I could, I would send you all some dark chocolate!!! Much love, dn

Hi All.

Don't want to start a new thread just for this so will go off subject long enough to thank the "Princess" for her comeback and welcome. If you ever saw me, you would know how funny your greeting was.

Have a great day, and night too!!

Keep on gaming Stephen!! We all appreciate your work!!

Hi Shawndion, yeah, there's some excellent games available from both of these download sites. I've got quite a few ear marked for the weekday games project, so you'll probably recognise quite a few coming up next month and November :)

Most of the games I've been posting come from download sites such as those two, so if you want to get as many games as possible now, just back track on all the ones I've posted so far and you'll find a wonderland of free games. There's some really good games available from most of them.

Happy Gaming

A big thank you to everyone. I'm always surprised at the responce to such negatives. Anyway, I've decided to post in the giveaway forums at least once a week with a list of the games I 've posted that week only idf to catch those that are new to the forums and to remind the community of the games I post. It isn't right that I should allow the opinions of a few to dictate what I feel is the right thing to do.

I hope you all ave a great week.

Regards

Rabbit,
It was because of your post on the main giveaway page that I found this forum. I think you are awesome. My heart goes out to you for what you are dealing with medically. I've been fighting the dog most of my adult life and do not usually get involved in forums because of it. You know, you get involved in a long thread, you spiral for a while, and the next thing you know, it has been two months and everyone wonders where you went. Oh wait, that's me, sorry 'bout that. =) Anyway, YOU ARE APPRECIATED! I've not been on this forum long, but that fact is the most apparent one yet. Bless ya, sweetie!!!!!!!!!

Wabbit, same as several others, I've been reading and not writing for quite a while now and thought it was important this time to let you know that you have a bunch of fans on here! I honestly don't know how you do it; I have hunted games for hours, especially puzzle games and come up with few not-very-well-done ones. Please keep on doing what you do so well. We appreciate you and your work.

Whiterabbit .... You Rock!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the accident and all that goes along with it. I wanted to offer encouragement. I always look for your reviews when GGotD posts a game. I can see the Thumbs UP and Thumbs DOWN ratings, but that doesn't give any real indication of how the game plays.

Your reviews ALWAYS give accurate representations of the actual game play and whether it is worth it or not to download and play. Your reviews are the FIRST thing I look for on a Game Giveaway.

Your freeware giveaways are awesome too. I don't know where you find all of these games. I am a longtime gamer, but due to "Real Life"(tm) and family commitments I haven't been able to find the freeware or low cost games in a LONG time. I really appreciate all that you do. I'm glad you put up your note. Otherwise I don't think I would have written to you otherwise. I need to remember that for every positive comment someone receives, they have usually received 5 - 10 negative comments.

Take care and get well.

Sorry Men, I don't know what happened to my post above. Half of it appears to be missing. Anyway; the gist of it was to say thank you. :) And to echoe LeKanaw's post: Welcome folks. Thanks for the support. I'm actually really moved by it all. When the chips seem to be down, there's always surprises around the corner.

Regards to all

Warmth and goodwill to all
