Hi Jaddis
I dont think I have a problem with activation. By now I have tried all manners of downloading and installing and activating. When the program pop-up says "Registration is successful" then I think thats that. I have seen this exactly 4 times now.
Like Ron above, even after activation, my about box assures me that I have a complete software except for the AVS logo that will be left there on the output file.
To be honest I have gotten to the stage where I am not going to make a fuss about a teeny-weeny logo as long as I can get the giveaway to work somehow.

I just remember that AVS product have a different way of activating them selves. You have to go into the start menu under the the AVS4you folder and find the "Activate" program. This is where you want to enter your key. If you are running Vista you may need to right click on this program and choose "Run as Administrator" in order for it to successfully activate the program.

Good luck!

Hi Ronn
I guess this video-editor is going to cause a lot of grief.
The software is beta!
For me the problem is that the activated app just hangs. I have tried to edit all types of video format and the program just hangs. Had to close it from the task manager. Tried posting this in the comments section some 3 hours back without success.
windows XP, core2duo 2Ghz, 3GB RAM

Hey Ronn,

I do not think you are supposed to post what the reg key is. Forum rule. Second what OS are you using? It can make a real difference when it comes to activating.

i think after you paste the registration key you must close the SW and run again after and if you go to 'help' activate or register option will disappear

I downloaded the .zip file, ran the Setup program, then when AVS Video Editor started chose Help > Activate and pasted the registration key (REMOVED) into the box and clicked on "Okay." After the program accepted the registration key and told me the program was activated, I clicked on Help > About and got a box which said that anything I produced would have an AVS logo stuck over it. So I uninstalled the program and re-installed it to see if maybe I had entered the registration key incorrectly. When I click on "Help" there is no longer an "Activate" or "Register" selection and "About" leads to the same message that it will put an AVS logo on any output.

After reading comment #20 on the comment page, I uninstalled the version installed by the GotD .zip file for the second time and downloaded the .exe Setup file from the AVS site. It won’t let me re-enter the activation code and Help > About still brings up the pop-up window that tells me that it is going to stick an AVS logo on anything I do with the program.

Can someone from Giveaway of the Day please respond before the giveaway period for this program ends and tell me how to fix this and get a version installed which will produce output free of logos? It looks like it might be a useful program but if it is going to put their logo on anything I edit with it the program is of no use to me.

Thank you!
