OK now - I dumped the original download and downloaded the fixed version and it works fine, thanks. Wonderful how a good night's sleep can clear the head!

did you download AltDesk(fixed).zip and re-extract? the files inside are different.

I got the same thing - time expired with 23hours + 15 minutes to go?????

When activation code is run error message states activation time is expired.
