What does your wife think of all your 'pack ratting'? Are you like one of those people that has stuff stacked all over the place and then there's just a teensy path to get through? I once heard on the news that someone died when their 'piles' of 'stuff' collapsed on them as they were walking through and it smothered them!

Anyone need the OLD DOS and 3.1 and Win95 games that came on the large floppies and also the small disks?? I still have all of those stored away, like Duke Nukem, Leisure Suit Larry, and I don't know what else. What am I keeping them for? We bit the bullet and took the old 233 and hubby's dead machine to the recycling place yesterday, as well as a few other old things like the old heavy duty IBM keyboards, etc. Still have another one of those. Couldn't part with the big 13" heavy klutzy monitor, it still does work! Trying to find a home for that.

Speaking of old PC games, does anyone know if Janes Fleet Command is still 'made' and available? My husband used to have it and something happened to it - actually it was a 3-disk set, with a submarine game and another one, along with the one with the ships. He would like to have that again.

Wow Goodgotd, your definitely showing your age, lol. I dumped all of my older games, but then I'm talking 15 floppy discs per game type games like Darklands (I tink that one actually had 12 discs) I'd love to find an equivalent game to Darklands as I played it exclusively with a couple of friends for over a year, before CD games became the norm.

The free cartoon style Battlefield game looks interesting, though I'm not up to playing online these days.

Regards

There's no doubt that the old Command and Conquer games are excellent. I'm sure there are some more C&C games free. Ah yes, here's the forum link:

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/1574#post-9748

If you decide you like the genre I'd certainly recomment World in Conflict, an excellebt RTS game that's set in an alternative present day where Russia Attacks the US.

The game play is second to non and the graphics are brilliant. You can get DX9 and DX10 versions. Check out some Googled images of the game:

http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=World+in+Conflict&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2

I'd also recommend Company of Heroes and its sequel:

http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=CompANY+OF+hEROES&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2

I'm about to show my age here, but this one brought back memories. EA is offering a free download of Command and Conquer: Red Alert. Even after 13 years it is still a great game. I love playing these old games I used to play many moons ago.

http://www.ea.com/redalert/news-detail.jsp?id=62

Each Disk is a 500MB download so it will take a while. You only really need one or the other to play, but if you can why not get both? You will also need a CD burner to create the CDs for play.
