Hey thanks it worked. Although I am still puzzled why make such security settings. Can I change them or do I have to make myself admin. Can't I share files? IMHO Vista went way overbord w/ security measures. They should be cranked down.

Also, its not user specific I installed in at admin and I can use it in my user (not admin). But I guess it doesn't work other way around though.

Again, Thank u so much!

Vista, from my understanding, sports some new spiffy security settings - you may want to make sure that your account has administrative rights. Activate.exe usually writes registry entries, at times (at least from my experience when I implemented a software protection routine) it may not notify you that the registry entry was not put in correctly. If that happens, the software remains unregistered. Also note that at times it works PER WINDOWS USER. Which means that if you installed with one account, that it would be registered for that acocunt, but not if another windows user logged in (this was brought to attention from an earlier post this past week).

Anyway, I don't have enough experience with Vista yet. But that's what I'd guess the problems would be coming from.

Hope it helps.

Have a blessed day!
-Timothy

Hi I just bought a new computer and loaded the new OS Vista. Since then I couldn't get any of the application from GOTD to activate. Although when I run the activate.exe (if there is one) and it says activated sucesfully. But when I install the software then unregistered (aka the trial version) gets installed. I tried to install the same software on my old PC w/ 2000 and had no trouble getting it activated.

Anybody with any suggestions would be appreciated.
