But yes I sure did try to update. When you open BurnAware Home Edition the user gets a welcome screen and on that screen they list the commands. It's on the left-hand side of the window in a column and the last commands are "Help and Support". When you mouse over the Help &#38; Support command a dropdown of sorts opens where there are five options listed. Which are "Open Help", Visit Support Forum, "Visit Offical Web Site", "Check for Update", and "About BurnAware Home Edition". Which by the way when I click on the "About" I have to use the Windows Task Manager to clear it out (?). Anyway so I click on the "Check For Update" and that was the result. I take it you haven't tried it yourself? Can't say that I blame you, but give it a go and get back to me. A commenter pointed out that today’s GAOTD BurnAware Express was not a newer version of the GAOTD offered on March 24, 2008 but a different product, which was BurnAware Home Edition version 1.2.9</p> <p>I’m one of those who installed that program on March 24th. When I opened the program and accessed the “About” this is what was written:</p> <p>BurnAware v. 1.2.9 Home Edition<br /> “This Product is Registered to<br /> Giveawayoftheday</p> <p>Single User License<br /> 1 Year Free Upgrades”</p> <p>I forgot about that little perk GloryLogic (the developer) tossed in of free upgrades for a year. So naturally I checked it out right away. Things did not exactly work out as I was led to believe:</p> <p>“Version 2.0 is available for download.<br /> <a href="http://www.burnaware.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.burnaware.com</a><br /> If you are registered user please contact BurnAware Support for a new key.<br /> Specify your order number or your license key or email used in registration.<br /> Giveawayoftheday license is not valid for v2.0 and higher!”</p> <p>Very nice eh? Does anyone have an explanation or more information about this renege? </p>
