This would likely be an administrator issue. It is also possible that your "My documents" folder got set to "read only". In that case, you will need to right click on "My documents", and set it back to it's default settings. If the "read only" setting is checked, you could try unchecking that, and telling it to apply to all subfolders.

If you are not an administrator on your computer, and there is more than one account present, it is possible that you are being denied because you do not have permissions to alter the documents for the other accounts.

Of course it is hard to tell without access to the computer for testing, but that is where I would start.

Not a Vista user but here's a question to prepare me when in the far future and advice to pass along. Would right clicking and go to properties and go to the "Compatibility" tab and change the "run this program compatibility mode", wouldn't that help in running this program as like a 32bit version of XP if this is the case?

I checked the other day and the lousy thing about a-squared Anti-Malware 3.5 is it isn't compatible with the 64-bit version of Windows Vista yet and that's what I have. There are many programs that are not compatible with it yet, that is the only downside I can think of so far.

I did a Google search with the line
Internal error: Failed to expand shell folder constant "userdocs" says to correct the problem and run again
It seems to mostly but not all point to administrator rights.
Sometimes to get all past this is to uninstall the program, then find and deleate the zip file from GAOTD and then clean out any left over files, caches and registry entries all with a cleaner like "CCleaner" then restart the computer, then try download the the GAOTD zip file again and retry.

If you don't have CCleaner you can download it from here. It's free though they ask for a donation, just follow the links.
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

or get more info about it here
http://www.ccleaner.com/

Make sure this second time to use right click "run as administrator" on the setup file just in case to be on the safe side of not having to do it a 3rd time. LOL enough to make you go nuts sometimes. Right?

Hi Merqueen
You didn't mention if the problem is when your installing the program or when you try running it after installation.
What kind of OS are you running Vista, XP ?
Are you under an administrator sign on screen name in your Windows' OS?
Did you try right mouse click on the setup.exe file and try the "Run as Administrator" option?

I did find a link for you to their forum to check out where some one else had the same problem.
