Is there a trick to redeeming the 2nd/3rd free game codes? I created an account under one of the other e-dresses I used, followed the steps, but just keep getting "invalid code" message.

Merri, my machine is fine, except for running out of memory now and then hehehe. the game is good, I just finished playing it. I disabled ZA because I do trust BF. If I have a problem I'll let them know and maybe get a free game out of it. You might try the contacting customer upport and voice your concerns and see what they say, you may get a free game.

yes I really agree, 4shadowm, it seems very dangerous these days to disable ones only protection on the computer.
I am actually surprised at Bigfish as up until now, they had seemed a good, reputable company.
Samm, I have had three trojans discovered ..I am not sure if they are from the game but I think I would be very wary.
I am sad though as it is a fun version of mahjong..

I had to disable my firewall for the Mahjong game, Zone Alarm wouldn't let it install.
Seems to be working fine. I had to reset the permissions for it in ZA.

The number of anti-malware products identifying the file I uploaded has steadily increased over the last 3 months as I pulled the history of submissions.

And the worst advice Hallmark could possibly give is for everyone to DISABLE anti-virus and Firewall to install their games. I don't disable mine for anything and the only time I put a file on ignore is if I KNOW it's a false positive and is the file is from a trusted company. In this case I know neither.

I went to Bigfish, as I was VERY curious why they would allow a virus ridden game to be distributed freely..
(I got the Mystery case files game as well, and it was not labeled as containing a trojan.
This is what I read..
"Some antivirus or personal firewall applications incorrectly identify our games as containing viruses and disrupt or block the software from running. Please be assured that the games coming from us are virus free. To avoid this issue, there are three things to try:
Option A:
If you update your version of your virus protection program you should find that this problem no longer occurs. You can update your virus protection program from the manufacturers web site and restart your computer. If you have removed the game from your computer, simply re-download it again from our web site and it should work fine.
Option B:
TEMPORARILY DISABLE YOUR PERSONAL FIREWALL until you have downloaded, installed, and activated your purchase.
How to disable your personal firewall on Windows XP:

 1. Right click on My Network Places
2. Select Properties
3. Double click Local Network Connection or Modem
4. Click Advanced
5. Uncheck Internet Connection Firewall

Please Note: If you're evaluating the free trial version and you see a blank page or error message in the browser when you open or close the game, your personal firewall product is the most likely cause. You will need to temporarily disable your personal firewall to see the "play now/buy now" page.

***We strongly recommend that you re-enable your antivirus software after purchasing a game (or as soon as possible). We must also remind you that disabling your antivirus software is done at your own discretion, and Big Fish Games specifically disclaims any liability or claims for damage arising from your decision to disable this program.***
Option C:

IF YOUR ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE DETECTS THE PRODUCT AS A VIRUS OR TROJAN (only some antivirus products exhibit this behavior) SET AN EXCLUSION FOR THE FOLDERS CONTAINING YOUR GAME.

To Mark the files or folders containing downloaded games as safe, refer to your antivirus/personal firewall product manual or help page for instructions on setting exclusions."

I haven't done this(my game is now in the virus vault of AVG but I thought some one might find this interesting..)

Hiya folks. I just wanted to give you all a heads-up about sending those e-cards from hallmark.com. There is a real virus in those cards; I have checked the info at snopes.com to make sure it is not a hoax, and it is not. The intended recipients of your e-cards may just delete them thinking it may be one with a virus in it, so you should tell them you are sending it to them. Here's the URL to the article.

Merri, My Avast AV flagged it as a backdoor trojan, but my anti-malware didn't. I uploaded the file that was flagged "nqnvbtr.exe" to Virus Total Online scanner and 50% of the AVs and anti-malware programs are detecting this file as a trojan. That's a high enough total for me to clean this program off of my computer and will try to notify Big Fish Games. I'd encourage others to use caution with this.

EEK , My husband's anti virus says that there is a TROJAN in the mah jong game! It is odd as MY anti virus is happy with the game and I have had no problems!
I WONDER though, as one gets new layouts on the web; it is POSSIBLE some one has sent a virus through.
be cautious, folks!

Hi Sukibabe, I certainly wouldn't pay to beta test games. The way I see it, if you do the job seriously, as i'm sure you do and i do, then the developer should at least pay for the work you've done by giving you a free key. I'll often spend days testing a game. so a paltry $20 is almost an insult. though I know we do it by choice. It's a shame that there are plenty of people willing to do it for free.

samm, I have great faith that Fish will make it right! They already used my credit for the Hallmark game! I won't be going with that...., but they usually send me a code for a free game of my choice, when something like this happens!

Whabbit, don't hold your breath! Like I said before, you get to be a Beta Tester if you join(PAY) their online club....and that is iffy,lol......

Sukibabe, it used one of my credits too. I the chat now beta on the MY Account page and they fixed it and gave me a coupon for the credit that was used. If you have set express checkout it will automatically use your credits. Once you uncheck it and they've sent you a coupon for your credit, you can go back in and use the coupon from Hallmark and get the game.

I had a credit, that's what they used!!!!!!!
So, If your a BF member, don't do what I did!
Now I have Emailed them asking for my credit back, we will see, otherwise I will be really ticked off!!!!!!!!!! I told them I would forward them the Email that said it was Free from Hallmark and BF, and the game wasn't worth using my credit!!!!!!!!

If you apply for more than one of the free games, you'll also notice that you get a 50% off token. Each one is unique and can be used because I decided to buy two games using the discount codes, though I did it seperately rather than order the games together. However, that said; Big Fish Games have several excellent packages including one where you only pay $6.99 for each game, though you do have to purchase 12 games over a year (1 each month). There's other offers including a buy one get one free offer, which basically negates the 50% off code offer I mention above, unless you only intend buying one game, then it's well worth it.

Hey, I just got two and now I'm going in for a third! Their mail did go to my spam folder for the first one.

Catnip, Thanks for the link! You ought to make yourself present around the forums more often. I like you and it gets a little lonely here sometimes. :)
EDIT: I just got the 3rd. This is great! I don't want the 4th one.
Now I'll get them on the the laptop. :)

Catnip, I saw that you wrote this in another thread, "I used to do medical transcription at home so that I could stay home, but the privacy laws changed, so I don't do that now, either." I have a friend who does this from home right now. I was wondering what it is that would prevent you from doing it and still allow her to continue? Just curious..

Yay! I'm glad it worked. Thanks for finding a way to get to the cards without using that big link I posted, Maizydaze! I was worried when I saw that the whole link didn't work, and I had to leave and couldn't fix it.

Also with this offer, you get a code for 50 percent off any Big Fish game. So, if you aren't a member of Big Fish already, you can use the code to get a game for $10.

Happy gaming!!!
Catnip

I should specify, on the Hallmark site page after the card sends there is a tiny link for the you, the sender to download a free desktop game - which is one of the same 4 games.

Thanks for the tip. Am I the only one who got a game for sending a card as well?
